I can't take much more..

I can not believe I am sick, AGAIN!!!! When I was MO I was actually still fairly healthy. I rarely got sick, felt pretty good most of the time and just went on about life. Of course I did struggle with mild joint pain, running out of breath climbing the stairs and things like that but that was just the way it was. Now, after losing 130 pounds it seems like one thing after another. Just in the last few months I have had a mild case of walking pnumonia, a sinus infection that took 3 rounds of antibiotics to clear, Kidney stones (that wouldn't pass on its own) a pulled tendon in my thumb (thanks Kandy-I've been in a cast for the last 5 weeks.) and now I have pnumonia again, not such a mild case. All this on top of trying to get my hormones straightened out. I feel like I just need a break from the one thing after another. I'm beginning to wonder if being ill is related to the WLS somehow. My poor DH who struggles with nerve pain from his back (down his legs) is having to pick up alot of my slack and he's getting worn down too. I'm starting to get really frustated and don't know what to do. I eat protien first then vegitables. I take multivitamins, B12, calcium and alegra everyday. When I had my 1 year follow up the end of March all my labs came back great. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just my turn... Thanks for letting me vent. It does help me to feel a bit better. Sue

Sue...........You poor thing!  You have been through so much, I can feel your frustration.  Sometimes enough gets to be enough already! I am sending you postive vibes that you will get better and stay healthy. I would'nt know if WLS would have anything to do with it or not but I can pray and send you positive thoughts! Feel better sweety, get some rest............. Love, Jeni

Sue:  My heart goes out to you.  Sometimes it's as simple as your body caught a bug which in turn made you anm easy mark for others.  We do so much that sometimes we don't take the time to fully recover and therefore leave ourselves wide open.   I have had Fibromyalgia for over 13 years.  I go through cycles where I get everything then long stretches where I'm healthy.  I understand your frustration.  Hang in there.  I hope your health turns a corner soon.  It will.  It really will.  hugs, Lisa

Hey Sue I am so sorry you are feeling sick again.  Have you thought about adding in some other supplements like Vitamin C or Echinecea.  I haven't been sick in awhile but when I had friends sick around me I started taking a Vit C and thank God I didn't get sick.  Sending healing vibes your way. Thanks for the advice Ms. Shell. I did fail to mention that as soon as Sammi got this cold I did start adding Vit. C , Echinecea and zinc. I'm guessing that with everything else I've had going on, I'm just extra susceptable. thanks for the healthy vibes, I'll take em. Sue

Sue...how old are you? The hormone part is probably WLS related for sure... since estrogen is a fat-based hormone, your levels have changed dramatically.

As far as your eating and vitamin routine...try adding a chewable C from Trader Joes or somewhere... I found I was not getting enough of it...it really helped me.

Other than that...so sorry you AND your DH are going through it!! Glad you vented... sometimes that is all we can do, just let it out, and find that friends are there for us!

blessings and health...

Lori

HI Lori! I am 35 and have been working diligently with my OB regarding my hormones. trying to get them leveled off since WLS. thanks for the advice with the vit. C. I do take a chewable but haven't been doing it regularly. I am definately going to add into my daily routine. I did add it in when sammi got sick but I think it was too late. thanks for the prayers. I appreciate it and I do feel better after venting. Hugs, Sue

Hi Sue....sorry to hear you are feeling bad....I know....more advice!!.....Lots and lots of water. Virius don't like moist tissue and when your mucus tissues are dry the virus sticks. Also.....now that you have lost weight you are probably getting out more and doing more and exposing yourself more. It kind of like school. Kids are great in the summer but once school is in session they all get sick because there are more germs. So...here's hoping that the crud goes away for good really quick. Take time for yourself to get back to 100% and we will be thinking of you.
