Kayaking in Long Beach, anyone?

Hi y'all.... Melody Rose posted awhile back about kayaking down in the Alamitos Bay area of LB (when I grew up, people called this beach "horny corners" if that pins the location for ya better!)...
So... to celebrate the first day of my summer vacation, Friday the 13th, and to avoid too much of a weekend crowd, Melody and i are planning to kayak this coming Friday, June 13...
Melody will post all the details...will ya, Melody? Thanks!!!
I'm thinking... 10am, Melody? Is that ok?
How much does it cost? And what do we need to bring (if anything)...
Looking forward to it!!
Lori
Arrrrg....Judy Ann and I and Sheryl have been wanting to do this. Friday the 13th is also Judy and my first day of vacation. I don't think we will be able to make this one as she is escorting me to my high school grad night which begins at 10pm Thursday night til 6am Friday morning.
Please let us know when we can do this again. During the week is great and probably less crowded. How fun!

Hi, Nadine! My h.s.'s grad night is Wednesday! Where do you work? You just might be all up and at 'em still in the morning, you never know...but, if not this Friday, we'll do it again...I'd like to do it once a week...
Have fun at D-land!

Oooh noooo I won't be up. I chaperone every year and barely have enough energy to drive home. I work at a high school in Chino Hills. Also, since this is "Chino Hills" we don't go to D-land. It's a different venue every year and the 600 students attending don't even know where they are going. As a matter of fact, staff doesnt even know. They just tell us how to dress for indoors or out. It's really a fantastic grad night. The students pay $150 per person and X's that by 600 its a lot of money to hire the best places, bands, hypnotists, food vendors.....etc. They all go home with gifts too.
If you're planning this regularly, I definatelly want to do this....its on my list of things to do.

That's the way grad night SHOULD be!! I like it when schools do it that way...have fun!! And either me or melody rose will keep posts going about the kayaking... maybe we'll pick a regular day of the week...
see ya...
