PacifiCare (Sharp Medical Group San Diego)

I have received a referral from my medical group (Sharp Community Health, San Diego )to see Dr. Mueller regarding the lap band. I have attended the seminar and I have a consultation with Dr. Mueller July 3rd. Has anyone been through the process with Sharp ? Any info on what to expect ?

I have Dr. Mueller . . . and am a Sharp patient (BCBS insurance) . . . no bad experiences at all so far (6 months) . . . send me your questions . . . Chris

Thank you for responding.   How long did it take to  get  a surgery date ?   I was wondering because my job slows down in the summer and it would be a great time to take off. If  it can't be done then, I have waited this long, a few  months is really nothing compared to the rest of my life. I may have more questions as I begin my new adventure.

I went to my orientation meeting the beginning of September . . . had all my appointments for consultation, psych, physical and blood work on Oct. 3, got approved about Oct 20, and had surgery Dec 3.  I had to wait from the approval date until December because I had to be nicotine free for two months before he would operate . . . so . . . it wasn't all that long from start to "action"!
