ok all.  I am soo very new to this posting and all but I want to give it a try as I will be having my rny on tomorrow morning and I am having all kinds of different feelings. I am excited, nervous, my mouth is dry as I have stopped all intake of anything.  wow just needed to get this off my chest as I haven't talked to a lot of people about this.  any words of advice as to the different types of clear liquids that you don't get tired of?

Welcome to the boards kneeci!!! I want to congratulate you on your surgery tomorrow and wish you nothing but success, health and happiness!

All that you are feeling is quite normal and a lot of us would say we would be worrying about you if you were not having these kinds of feelings.

I was the worst about clear liquids....meaning I just stuck to water and I would drink chicken stock right out of the carboard container because I was just havig something to keep me from bottoming out on my blood sugar. The doctor I had was a firm believer in eating instead of going the protien drinks and liquid thing...I was eating solid food at around 2 weeks or less.

My best advice to you is to follow your doctors protocal and you will do fine. We can share what we did, but we're not your doc! I know that I am almost 6 years out and my doc has changed his protocal....so things change for sure! Each doc is different and although we all had surgery..each of us are different too!

Best to you tomorrow and will keep you in my thoughts!!! As soon as you can....let us know how you are doing!

Hugs to you!

Hi, I just had my surgery on Tuesday and it was my first surgery ever, it really was not a bad experience at all. You may read the post I just did "Need more space on the loosers bench" is the title. I know you will do great and you too will be home before you know it. I started to have all sorts of mixed feelings too right before the surgery, then as we packed the motorhome (we took it to stay in as I used an out of town hosp.) and I was huffing and puffing cleaning it and taking stuff out it just made me more determined to do this. I need to get healthy.  You will do great. See you on the loosers bench too ! Kim B

Kneeci.... God bless you tomorrow morning as you have your surgery... I know what you mean about having so many different feelings...and be ready for that to continue post-op..... it was such a learning time for me that first year after surgery... learning about my addiction to food... and how to use my time differently when freed from the focus of eating all the time...

Take care, and keep posting!

xoxo
