Good morning Jeni and crew!

Another type by for me this morning, I have another interview this morning and I need to get into the shower and find something to wear. I am going to make a valiant attempt to not look like a ragamuffin....all my clothes are already too big and I can't afford to get new ones yet!

I had a smallish wow this weekend, saw one of my girlfriends who hasn't seen me since two days after surgery and she was amazed. She says she can already see a difference, especially in my face. I don't really see it yet, so it was kind of nice to hear. =)

Anyhow...I need to get moving!

I hope everyone has a great day, don't let the Mondays catch ya!

Good Morning Cali Crew, My weekend was great.  Saturday went bra shopping.  Found one at VS ($50) , ouch.  I will be returning it today.  Saturday evening, went to a friend's house for a Arbornne party.  Nice stuff but very expensive.  I spent the night at her house and she took me home the next day.  Got home Sunday, took a shower and changed.  Afterwards, I   went to my cousin's house to celebrate her birthday with a little shopping and dinner (Red Lobster- Inglewood).  Guess what?  The drinks were free!  Yippeee! SO the start of a new week for me. I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a smooth week. Kim

Good Morning Jeni & The Beautiful Cali Crew Off and  to see my Professor about my class this semester.  I hope its good news.  I'm so intimidated by her, I feel like I'm gonnaShe is not only my professor, but the head of our department(she was appointed last year).  She soooo awesome.  She is not only a woman, but an African American woman who I I can't believe she is the department chair over all those men.  And, she recently got married.  Talk about having it all.  Talk about feeling intimidated.  Damn!  I wish I had something to somewhat calm me downOkay, my appt. is at 10am.  Gotta HAVE A MARVELOUS MONDAY EVERYONE!

I had a hectic weekend that officially ended about 15 minutes ago.  I write the monthly newsletter for my quilting guild, and I just sent it to the printer a little after 10 this morning.  We have our general meeting on the last Thurs of the month, and then I try to get the newsletter out by the end of Sunday - so I was a little late this time.  Another woman picks it up from the printer around noon on Monday, gets all the address labels stuck on, and mails it by Tuesday.  It is quite the production number!  Oh, well, my reign as Newsletter Editor ends in October, and believe me - I'm counting down the issues!  Unfortunately, nobody has jumped in and said they'd take over, but I have faith some sucker will volunteer!  After all, I did two years ago! -- Carol

Good Monday Morning California!

My weekend was full of running around.  I had a second date on Friday night with a very nice guy who I like a lot. :)  Saturday was coffee in Long Beach and then I had a ton of chores and errands to do.  THen I had an impromptu third date.  It's been a long time since I've met someone who makes it to the third date. :)

Sunday I woke up turned on my cell phone and had 13 voicemail messages....all of them from my mom.  She wanted to make sure I was at lunch because my brother was in town. Well it was too last-minute for me. I was already having lunch with Denise to celebrate her upcoming surgery this week. It was a beautiful time, she is surrounded with lots of love and support and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

Afterwards I went to my mom's house to visit with my brother for a while. It was the first time I'd seen him since surgery.  He was amazed, we sat and talked for a long time about health & fitness. He was really inspired by my new running habit. :)

When I got home last night I had a little WOW moment.  I took a shower and when I came out of the bathroom I realized that my blinds were still open. So I went to close them while hlding a towel around me and I realized I was using one of the smaller regular size bath towels...it went all the way around me with some room to spare!

I wrapped the towel around me and tucked in it, it fit and I was completely covered,  I've NEVER done that before!  (Sorry, I didn't take a picture.)

Well, back to work....make it a great day!!

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
