Checking in--I'm still alive! It was a hot one, but I really enjoyed it. I didn't go in with high expectations because I hadn't trained much at all the last month and contemplated not doing it. I'm glad I did though! Met some really nice people along the way, ditched my iPod around mile 8 or 9 and enjoyed the music from the bands playing. Not my best time, but not my worst either. I was in excrutiating pain shortly after with a bad knee that kept locking up, but it only lasted a couple hours and now I'm left with only the "normal" aches and pains. Walking a bit funny, can hardly go downstairs (takes me a few minutes and lots of baby steps) and sitting on the toilet is almost impossible because it hurts my legs so bad to squat. LOL Aside from the heat, it was a great run!  Good to see Gene again and bummer that I missed Kevin and Helen. I did see Kirsten at one point along the course though! Wish I could remember what mile? Think I was already delirious. hahaha

Thanks Lynnie!!
I had a great run! Finish in 6:45!! Shaved 1 hour and 10 minutes off my L.A. time without any long runs since the L.A. Marathon. What a difference it make running healthy!! San Diego Marathon was a great!! There were people cheered all way to the finish!! It felt good being out there running!!

Thanks to Kirsten for being my pit crew!! She made it to 3 different spots and by the end of the race look as if she ran the whole 26.2 mile!!

Hey you!  Congrats on the RnR!  You always amaze me!  We stay at a couple of places- I like Catalina Island Inn when we just go for a night or two- it's not fancy AT ALL, but it's clean and convenient and reasonably priced.   I love staying at Hamilton Cove, they are great condos and all come with a golf cart, but it's more pricey.  They have a great pool, tennis courts, and the private beach with the beach bar!   I have used these guys before when renting houses for a week:  http://www.catalinavacations.com/?source=googleadcatyrentals

Congrats all Rock N Roll Runners!  You did an amazing job.

It was so fun being out there to see you, but it made me soooooooo miss running….I wanted to run so bad!  L  Kevin took my entry and did a great job knocking 1 hour and 10 minutes off his L.A. time.  Kev….I’m so proud of you!!!!  I have to say it was hard work being your “crew”, but I’m so glad I was able to do it.  I’m still paying for it today…I think it set me back in my recovery quite a bit but it was worth it.  I think I looked worse than you did after the 26 miles…LOL!  Cyndi…..you scared the you know what out of me when you saw me around mile 6 point something.  I didn’t even see you until you were practically in my lap!  LOL  It was great to see you and you looked amazing out there!  I was at the finish line but didn’t see you or Scott Finish. L  I did see Gene finish…although someone needs to tell him to take his ear phones out when running towards the finish.  I practically lost my voice yelling “GO GROOVE DADDY” for nothing cuz he didn’t even see me!!!  LOL

On that note….I can’t wait to get the approval to start running again.  I’m hoping to start back by the beginning of July and as of right now I’m wanting to train for the Las Vegas Marathon in December.  Anyone want to join me and head to Vegas Baby????????
