GOOD SUNDAY MORNING CALIFORNIA

Hi Vicki: A neurotomy is performed to help the pain coming from the nerves in the facet joints along the spine. These nerves are sometimes the ones (not all the time) that are flaired up with inflammation, arhtritis etc. This is my second time, usually lasting about a year because the nerves do regenerate. This has greatly improved my back pain, much less pain in the buttocks, sciatica down the leg into the hips etc. Although weight loss would be a major help. I have also had an anterior fusion on my C4-5 my disc ruptured and my left arm went paralyzed (sugery brought it back) and have much arthiritis with slight bulging in C6-T1. The neuromties were not the answer for C6-T1, but the facet joint injections with steroid were the the trick - lasted about 10 months will go back for another round on June 9th. I have a wonderful spine Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. James Reynolds and his Anesthesiologist Dr. Palma at the San Francisco Spine Center.  He and his assoc. work with the 49ers, many other athletes, Charles Barkley just had his picture on the wall being worked with on my last visit. People all over the U.S. will fly in to see him and his staff. I met a gentlemand from Denver and a lady from Southern California last visit. It's a 3 hour drive for us.     Love Them.. I hope I answered well enough.   I'm behind now that I have been online. Gotta feed the horses. They have pasture grass, but do get supplements morning and night. They are out there calling me.

Hi! My husband has serious issues with L4 - S1. He's going for a new MRI next week and probably on to injections. He's had the facet injections here and they didn't do much. Maybe this other thing, the Neurotomy might be the trick for him. I'm going to look into it and gather more info. Thanks for sharing the information.
