As one animal lover to another. I feel your pain.

Every time I open my front door, I expect Max to come running and welcome me home. Its been 3 weeks since I had to put him down, and I still miss him

I am so sorry for your loss (losses) - that is a lot for a person to deal with. However, I want to reassure you that doing the humane thing - though difficult - is a demonstration of love for Fergie. Rather than holding on for you and your feelings - you let her go - knowing her life would have been filled with pain and difficulty. Don't beat yourself up - know you did what you should. Having said that - know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Loss - no matter what the source - is hard for us all to reconcile. Again, I am sorry for your loss.
