IMG_1554-1.jpg image by terryandjackt RIP  Fergilicious AKA Fergie was only 6 months old and her liver completely went. I did not want to put her down but I couldn't let her keep getting so so sick and the Vet's said even with surgery they couldn't guarantee a good quality of life, especially being so young she would suffer with this all her life if she did make it though surgery. It just broke my heart.  I had to put my horse Woody down that I raised from birth down 18 months ago from a leg injury, our Lab Norman 1 yr ago and Miniature Schauzer 8 months ago both old age.  It has just been very lonely around the house the last two days. Today was my husbands birthday and the kids and grandkids came up and it was nice, but my 2 yr old grandson kept going around saying Ergie looking for her and didn't understand. I just needed to vent.  Feeling blue about it. Thanks for listening..

I am so very sorry for your loss.  My Dear Dog went to heaven about 7 months ago as well.  I know words don't help.  I miss her dearly!!   Being a hughe animal lover I now have another dog and she is now 9 months old.  LOL she makes me laugh and run and play.  She will never replace my dear 14 year old dog, but I know my dog would have wanted me to always have a dog to play with.   Again I am so very sorry for your loss!~Ann~

I feel really bad for you, but you did the right thing. I know that is not much consulation right now because you miss her.....I have had to do that with several of my pets...a lot of us here have, but you are being very humane by doing what you did!

Thank's to everyone for your response, it really does help. I woke up this morning with the sun shining and the birds singing and know that Fergie is in a good place. I feel better today, a little heaviness off my heart.  Thank you gain.

I am also so very sorry for your loss. I am also an animal lover. I had my baby 15 years when I had to put her down. My baby slept with me she always curled up behind my knees. This may sound strange but sometimes when I am really sad she will come and visit me. The first time I felt it I jumped up out of bed turned on the lights and looked all around but there was nothing there. Then I got back in bed and I felt it again something jumped on my bed and walked across my legs and curled up behind my knees. I felt around and there was nothing there. So to this day I believe it was my baby visiting me.  Sending hugs to you. Sue
