OT - Zoom whitening... or other...

Hi everyone - I've been looking into getting my teeth whitened lately and have considered Zoom Whitening... but I found this page with a ton of posts from people saying that it was the worst pain they've ever felt - and that even their results were good, they would rather chew broken glass then do that again... Do any of you have any experiences to add??? TIA! C h e e r s, gene

Hi there!  I don't know what zoom whitening is, but I do know that I used the over the counter Crest White Strips.  They did the job great, but the also ate away my teeth.  Because of the lack of calcium or the white strips (not sure which one, but the problems start happening every time I try to use the strips), my teeth are a mess and I have had major problems with them.  Maybe it is just me but I don't know. Ms. Janine had all of her teeth redone and I am sure part of it was being whitened.  E-mail her and ask her about it. Good luck!!!! Jillie

FYI I did not have my teeth whitened. I had to have my entire bit and jaw re-aligned due to my former dentist misaligning my bite when she put some implants in. My new mouth cost me $40,000, but I have a million dollar smile!

So are you just jonesing for the big day? I can hardly wait to get out of school...I have end of the yearitis for sure....maybe worse than the kids! I am telling you...these next two weeks are going to be killer! 

That's what I meant when I said you had to have them redone. I just wasn't sure if whitening was part of the deal or not.  I look forward to seeing them in person one day.  The way mine are disappearing, I will have some nice white falsies within a couple of years, and I am not too happy about it either. Holy **** for real!!! Amazing eh? I about nearly died when I was given the estimate. At first I was only going to get the couple of teeth that got screwed up fixed, but he said that I would be back in a couple of years having them redone and it would just go on and on. So I came home and presented Jeff with the situation. We thought long and hard about it.....40 g's was a lot of money, but in the long run, it was cheap considering the problem and how long these would last. The only maintance on my teeth is to get them clean every 4 months now. I will never have to have a filling or anything. Every one of my natural teeth are crown and the lab he uses makes the crowns tranlusent like your natural teeth. I am telling you Vicki....it was way worth it to me as I was telling Jeff last night that having my teeth done like this gave me so much self confidence and it was not like my teeth were all that bad before, but now they are spectacular!!!!

Janine, I agree that it is totally worth it to have what you had done. I won't even think twice when it comes time for me to have mine done. I've been pretty lucky so far with no damage. You look amazing and I am sure your self confidence shot up 100% once the pain wore off! LOL   Susan

Hey Janine,    Who did your teeth?  You have a great smile!!  I need so much work done that I am afraid I will need to mortgage the house!!  I have fractured 6 teeth due to TMJ and grinding them. (A great PSI in that jaw)  $40 K!!!  I would have my smile insured!!! LOL Huggs, Karen B.
