OT: Update on Ruby

Hi gang!

First off, thanks so much for all the messages and well wishes for us and Ruby last night!

She didn't sleep a whole lot except when she was in here with us, but she is sleeping fine now that I am up and around. She is walking pretty OK this morning, a little stiff and sore looking, and her eyes and gums look good (thanks Lu!). I think she's going to be OK, luckily she is still young, which I am sure made a huge difference!

I did notice that she has a little bit of road rash on the inside of one back leg, one front leg, and the elbow of the same front leg. I am going to see if she will let me clean that a little today, just to make sure it doesn't get infected, and give her a better going over.

I will post again tomorrow on how she is doing!

Shells, I am so glad to hear that Ruby is doing better today. Just wanted to let you know, if it seems like she is in a little pain or discomfort you can go to the local store and buy her some Ascripton (SP?) it is a buffered asprin that is safe for dogs. My nephew is a vet and had us give it to out Lab when he would get sore from playing too hard. He also had a mishap with a car once and although we did take him to Gary (the vet) he was fine and we were told to just give him the Ascripton for pain relief. Hope that this helps you out. BTW we gave him one tab in some hot dog or cheese and left food out for him to eat so as not to upset the stomach. If the dog is smaller give half, but one seems to be ok for almost all sizes (except mini's and t-cups) Hope that this helps, and hugs and slobbery kisses from all 6 of my dogs to Ruby!!!! Oh how I hate it when our furbabies aren't doing well.  I don't know what kind of dog you have, but when my dog is stiff and sore, he is about 40 lbs, I give him one baby aspirin.  It's a thought, and I certainly hope that you baby is ok. Big hugs to you both, Diane

I did give her a baby aspirin, one last night and another mid-day today and she seems to be doing pretty good!

Oh they are so cute.  My girlfriend has always had 2 of them and I love going over and playing with them.  Gotta love the ears and short legs.  Cutest puppies next to ****ers.  I want pics!!!!!!!!  Hope she is doing better this morning, me and my two ****ers are sending love and prayers her way.
