SUGAR FREE TREATS!?!
Lisa I am sure you were not too anxious to hear what you heard from us longer termed postops. I am telling you not only are you going to go down a slippery slope this early out, but the sugar alcohols are going to make you sicker than hell. They make you dumb worse than sugar....well at least they did me. Stick with the popsicles or protien shake like Liz said. BTW...you will also have super bad stinky gas if you over do it on the carbs and sugar alcohols too!
Make good choices Lisa..it is mandatory to be successful!!!

Lisa,
Girly I here you about the cravings, but you have to remember this is all about CHANGE and CREATING healthier habits. I know that one of my biggest down falls before surgery and even now is sweets. I love them with a passion, But I also know that I love being healthy and skinny better. I find that when I want something sweet I will eat a SF fudgscile(sp?) I know they are a little high in calories, but it is a healthier alternative. Just a little story to tell, yesterday I took my kids to the store and they wanted some chips, well right by the chips was the SF candy. I thought "I want some candy", so as I was standing there looking over what one I wanted it hit me. The last time I ate some of this candy I felt like SH**T after, So I paid for my kids chips and went home and cut up an apple and put some peanut butter on it and it took my craving for candy away. Now with me telling this story, I want you to see 2 things. One is that I mentally took myself back to how I felt after eating the candy the last time. I didn't like the feeling and the candy this time was not good enough for me to feel like SH**T again.. The second is finding an healthier alternative that will SATISFY the craving. I hope I wasn't to harsh, but Lisa you can do this. Just remember as the words were told to me and I rely on them all the time.
***THERE IS NO FOOD IN THIS WORLD THAT WILL TASTE AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELS*******
and that is so the truth!!
Thank you all again for your words of wisdom. I did take your advise and eat a SF Popscicle and then went to bed. Woke up this morning feeling like a new woman and I lost another 1.5 lbs. So it just shows me that I came to the right place for advise and support, and that I feel better having taken all of your advise. I knew that I could count on all of you to set me straight. And right now I am drinking a chocolate protein shake to stop the sweet cravings even before they start today! I think in my case this is a bad case of mind over matter (or should I say stomach! LOL) I was a HUGE CHOCOLATE LOVER before surgery and I am letting my mind take control of me. Also just sitting around and letting myself get bored and then I just want to munch. So today starts a new beginning of not letting that happen. When I start to feel that way I am taking the dog for a walk and drinking water! I think I will be walking alot in the days to come, but I am determined to overcome this hurdle. I know that I can do it, and I committed to this lifestyle change and I'm not going back!!! So thank you all again for all of your tough love and support, I needed it!
Lots of big hugs to all of you! Lisa
