5DPT final outcome
Good Soggy Morning
I am happy to say I completed all 5 days with only one minor incident with 5 tortilla strips and the 5DPT works. I am pleased to announce that I lost 6.1 lbs. Not bad for being 3 years 7 months out.
More than just the weight loss I have realized just how bad I have been on my nutrition. A little cheat here, a little cheat there = weight gain. Plain and simple. I have proven to myself that I can eat right and still drop a # or 2.
I plan on sticking with good eating habits as I should have been all along and will stop justifying my own attempts to sabotage myself. I am not going to be as rigid as the 5DPT, but really concentrate on what I eat, when I eat, listen to my pouch when it tells me it is full, and watch myself for mindless grazing.
I hope all you who are still in the honeymoon period take advantage of the time you have and use it wisely. Once your weight loss slows or your body says you have reached your ideal body weight it get more and more difficult to take off weight. It is possible, but it takes almost drastic measures to just drop a pound or for that matter, stay at your ideal weight. As you get further out, you will be tempted to eat things you know you shouldn't and if your pouchie doesn't revolt, your temptations could become reality and before you know it, BAM, you start gaining weight. Don't shake your head no because I was like you my first 1 - 1/2 years. No way will I gain any weight back and guess what? I did and I am not proud of it but I am doing something about it before I become that depressed, obese 350 lb woman.
Sorry about rambling on but I think it is important for me to confess on here and I have always loved the OH community. Everyone supports everyone else and if just 1 person gets something from my confessions, then it was a success.
I am pleased to have lost 6.1 # and I plan on trying to lose another 4 to get me almost to my lowest weight after surgery.
So if anyone else wants to post their success or just ramble like I did, please feel free to do so.
XOXOXOXO
Sheryl

I'm so glad for your success, Sheryl, and thanks for the encouraging words. I didn't to the 5DPT with you, but, I read your posts...particularly was educated by what you pasted/posted about "slider foods" and how that atually works in our bodies. Thanks!
Lori
Congrat's, Sheryl! Glad you did so well - I had a pretty successful exercise with this thing as well... I'm feeling that "full" feeling again and finding it somewhat easier to pass by the things I should be avoiding. Other than a bit of pop corn I did well yesterday. I've lost some weight (didn't plan on that), but as you said, just getting back to basics is so valuable for me!
I"m in Carpinteria for the weekend chillin' at the beach - have a killer weekend!

Way to go Sheryl!
I am on my last day today becuase I didn't start till Tuesday. Last night was much better for me. We went out to dinner with friends and I had some soup and could not finsih it and I had no snacks. We were suppose to go to a movie, but kid stuff (actually taxi service) got in the way...which was better for me not to have smell popcorn.
I will weigh in tomorrow...we'll see!
Wow you are doing awesome Lisa! It's hard, but you got it going on gf and Woof Woof knows that this is just the beginning to your goal weight which is in close site! Keep it going and before you know it....you are going to be posting....I reached goal! Have a great weekend and get some time for yourself! Woof Woof Wuvs Ya!
Thanks Woof Woof!
Today was WAY easier...can't wait to weigh in the morning and see the results! For some reason my "willpower" was better today as well. My DH and I were at the car dealership for a couple of hours buying me a new car and they had a tent set up with a local mexican restaurant dishing out carne asada and carnitas tacos, nachos and other goodies. I had my bottle of water and had a few bites of the carne asada steak, and I was FULL! I was shocked. I didn't even want a bite of the tortillas or chips...whoo hoo!
Thanks for the shout out!!!!!!!!
Hi Sheryl and a Happy Soggy weekend to you too,
Congratulations on your success and happiness. I didn't realize you had even an ounce to lose, but since you wanted to be healthier and more in control, I am happy for you. I was hoping to walk the marketplace today, but the sogginess kept me in. Maybe tomorrow!
You continue to inspire me and so many others. Thanks for that always,
nancy
