Surgery Date Scheduled!
Hi Sue,
It certainly wasn't quick. I went to my orientation early last December. Following the orientation I had my first appointment with the surgeon. He gave me and my PCP a rather long list of tests/procedures/consultations that needed to be completed before a follow-up appointment and decision about the surgery. The reason it took so long was due to the length of time it took for me to get two of the appointments (colonoscopy/gastroscopy and mental health evaluation). The approvals for the all the tests only took a few weeks but the appointment dates were as far out as two months (mental health eval). Once all the results were in to the surgeon, my follow-up appointment was within two weeks and after that it took two weeks to get the surgery date.
I hope this helps.

Lots of support from me to you, Kerby... congrats on the date...soon!
I'm not in your area, but there are many on the Cali board who are...I'm sure someone will step up and be your angel up there in the NorCal area...
Advice: read people's profiles, especially those who are many years out from surgery. There is much wisdom to be gained from the experience of others for those who take the time to read and absorb it all!
God bless you as you begin this journey of re-gaining your health and control over your life!
