UPDATE ON KIRSTEN
I got a call yesterday after work from Celest she seem really worried about Kirsten and her situation so I decided to go down and visit Kirsten ,, I'm glad I did I took her some much needed items and stayed the night with her man she has been through a lot already and being by herself was upsetting so I tried to put her in good spirits (I talked her ear off LOL ,,,, shes in pain and taking her drugs like shes supposed to she was resting and relaxing and thats what she needs ,,,Kirsten is so lucky she went back to the doctors just in time because it could of been a lot worse if she would of waited just a few more hours but shes on the road to recovery she looks great (flat tummy nice butt ) I'm so jealous but I know my time will come she gave me his number and I plan on making time to see him too ,, her situation had nothing to do with the doctor it has to do with how she was healing and its just going to take a little longer ,,, I think with the strength she has in her arms and legs from running and working out really helps her to get out of bed or even going to the bathroom and just being able to move ,,, she may be down there a couple more days so please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers ,,, THANKS ,,, *Christine*
Thanks Christine for posting this and coming to visit me and take care of me. And thank you sooooo much for the clothes! :-) You saved me!!!!
I'm sitting here waiting for the shuttle to take me back to the surgeon for round 2 of the debreedment. Yes....it was confirmed....it is Necrosis. Basically, that is lack of blood flow to a part of the incision site. This causes tissue death. I'm lucky I got there when I did. Dr. Quiroz cleaned everything out yesterday and removed the dead tissue, and will do it again today and tomorrow. I am left with an open wound the size of the palm of my hand that will take a few weeks to heal. :-( This is a rare complication of any type of surgery and happens to less than 1% of all patients. Unfortunately, this time, I was one of those 1%. Yes, I did my research and knew it could happen, but you never think it will happen to you. It's one of those freak things that would've happened no matter who did my surgery, or where it was done. :-( Dr. Q. is doing everything he can to get this to heal up quickly, along with minimal scarring. He is a wonderful surgeon and is taking great care of me. :-)
So....that's what's going on. I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow afternoon. I packed extremely light not knowing that I would be staying down here, but thanks to Christine I got some new comfy clothes (my wound had an "accident" all over the only clothes I had with me. LOL). I talked to Becky this morning and she is going to come see me this afternoon. I'm ordered by Dr. Q to stay in bed until I leave. :-(
Thanks everyone for your good thoughts!
I'M IN TRAINING AND YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! http://apla.convio.net/site/TR/Events/NationalAIDSMarathonTrainingProgram-MARATHONONLY?px=1351601&pg=personal&fr_id=1050
Here's to a speedy recovery Kirsten! I too had an open wound after gall bladder removal.. it was about 3" long and 2"deep, but with Dr Gorgeous treating it and telling me it won't take long to close up I wasn't worried. One thing I did to "save" clothes, was to put an Always pad on the clothing "just in case" - I know many of you are busting a gut now, and trust me I did, but whatever it takes to stop the "accidents" LOL. (if i remember right, it had to be packed but the would itself could not be covered up.. hmmm was a long time ago).. anyways.. good luck and no worries!!
Hi sweetie! I'm glad you went down there last night, I didn't see her post till it was too late. I am going to go down there this afternoon though and keep her company. I feel so bad for her having to go through this all alone!! She is one brave woman!!!
So, like Christine said, everyone keep her in your prayers and good thoughts! big hugs, Becky
