Good Morning Cali, Janine I will pray for a speedy recovery from the bite. They can be bad sometimes. It is a good thing that you are only taking the meds one week. My little brother was on it for a long time for his asthma and he gained alot of weight. But when they took him off of it his weight came back off. It is very windy up here in Jackson CA too. I do not like them it blows all the pollin around and is bad for my allergies. I have no plans for this weekend just stay home and go for my walks. I am so looking foward for this process to get started. I have 4 weeks till my informational meeting. I hate waiting but I know that is the process it all takes time. I hop everyone has a great day and hopefully the winds will leave soon. Congratulations to everyone for the losses. Sue

Oh, Janine, feel better soon. Let me know if you need anything.
I wonder if it was one of those darn desert spiders!!! ACK!!!

I'm so looking forward to a three day weekend! I'm gonna keep it local and get caught up on a few things. Sleep being one of them!

Take care,
Kim

So sorry to hear about your "bites".  Sounds like your are taking a Medrol dose pack. (prednisone)  I have to go on these at least once a year.  It's not that bad.  You may feel your face get flushed, it takes about 3 days before the hunger sets in, but it's not that bad.  Stay hydrated, and one week of pred doesn't usually cause the swelling that can happen on long term use.  Hope this helps  Linda

The prednisone is a heavy duty anti inflammatory.  It will help with not only the pain but also the swelling, and the itch if there is any.  You may want to ask your dr if warm compresses would help.  Usually in bite situations they recommend that to help draw out any infection.  Best of luck to you.  Hope your feeling better today
