Sorry I'm late today! I hope everyone had a great 4rth day!  My pouch was soooo glad to get some food again! lol  I felt much better today than yesterday!  I had cottage cheese with hard boiled eggs in it, I would have never thought of that on my own, I also added some feta cheese and it was rockin YUMMO!!! Had some refried beans with cheese, and a little taco meat in it to make it thicker for lunch And tuna with hard boiled eggs in it for dinner!  Who would have thought those things would taste so good!!! I have to say, that when I had my WLS I never totally measured much, but this time I am measuring and stopping at that amount or before if I get full! Wow, did I just say that!!! Woo Hoo for me!!!!  I hope you all did good today too! We are almost there gang, one more day!!! I'm very proud of all of us!         biggest hugs, Becky

Hi Becky, Please forgive me, but I am only 7 weeks post-op.  What is the 5 day pouch test?  What is the purpose for it?  How far from post-op do you do the pouch test? Thank you Michele

No forgiveness necessary sweetie! It is 5 days of basically going back to like the first part of surgery to get your pouch back to tightness. It is designed to break the bad habits like carbs, grazing, snacking, etc. to remind us of how it is suppose to be. The first 2 days are liquid and then soft protein on day 3 and progressing from there!  For me, I had been stuck losing and gaining the same 5 pounds for about 3 months so I needed to get back on track. Plus I went on a cruise and let my splurges continue afterwards with emotional eating over a depressing event.  I'm really paying more attention this time to measuring and feeling the fullness and stopping then. It really feels great to have the control back!  I don't know if there is a set time that it is ok to start it, but you definitely don't need to. I am just about 1 year out. I'm definitely not an expert on the 5DPT or any part of WLS! lol  Here is the link so you can read about it and bookmark it if you ever do need it later... http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html I hope things are going great for you so far!!! Isn't it a fascinating ride?!!!   biggest hugs, Becky

Hi,  Today I ate yogurt, pudding,  protein drinks and  4 Bonnie Bell cheese rounds (too many) but at least they were soft cheese, and vegetable soup.   I don't feel too enthusiastic right now but I'm hoping for a mood elevation tomorrow.  This hasn't been too. tough but at the same time I feel blah Here's to us.  Just think tomorrowis day 5, jane

Rachel, I could be your twin.  I just read your bio and it is just my story as far as weight history goes!!!! The  only difference is I'm at the 3 year 152  right now.  I'm your height as well.  I feel like if I don't pull it together now it will all slip away.  Like you said   the clothes are tighter etc.  Kind of amazing. Jane

Hey again Jane, Sorry to hear you share my challenges. All the more reason we need to support each other. Speaking of profiles, what's up with yours. Not a lot of info.  And I haven't gotten on the scale this week, but I put on the size 12 jeans I bought today. They no longer feel tight! I kept having to pull them up while I was jumping around with the kids in my class today! Howzat for motivation! 10's are just around the corner! Yeah! Hang in there my friend, Rachel

Dang,  Another late night out for me. Tonight I went to a new support group. Today I ate, 2 cheese sticks, 6 ounces of chicken at 2 seperate meals and a lot of water. Oh and my tea. It's still a good thing. Lauren
