"goal" weight
Pre WLS my nut. told me I was a medium frame!! I thought he was nuts!! Till I lost and realized he was right. Our minds have seen us for years in our "old frame" that we can't see (or won't see) what is really "behind the fat". When I hit goal (190) I started to shoot past it. I thought I would be one of those people who had a physical problem stablizing in their weight. I freaked out and started eating everything in site. Big mistake. Esp since the other surgeon in the group thought my goal could be between 190-180. Wish I'd have known that. What most people have said is true...If you are eating right and exercising your body will let you know when it is time to stop. If it doesn't, here are two pieces of advise when you reach goal. Add some good oils to your diet. I am not sure which ones, but if you add more than you are using right now they will help stablize your system. # 2. Add some whole grain cereals to your diet. Don't go hog wild on either of these, but both I have heard will slow greatly or stop the weightloss. Brian
Hi Monica,
I always wondered what my goal weight would be. I thought thinner was better but I feel pretty good at 160. I am 5'6 and a half. Sorry, I can't get up the half quite yet. I used to be 5'8" in my younger days. When I was at the surgeons one day I looked down and saw 140.2 written in my chart. I asked him what the number was and he said that was what he wanted me to weigh. My lowest weight was 155 at my one year anniversary. My best friend who has lost 140 pounds after her surgery and weighs 127 now frankly told me that I looked horrible at 155. I told her gee thanks. I don't see myself ever weighing 140.2. I am in a size 12 in jeans and wear a medium top. The last time I wore a 12 in anything I was 12. The plastic surgeon said if I had a tummy tuck I would be in size 8 pants. We'll see. I do think your body finds a comfortable spot. But if it's too low or too high for you, you have the tool to adjust it.

Hi Monica,
You are looking so good! I am 5'1" and my doc told me that she wanted me to get between 130 and 135lbs. I weighed in with her at 136. I have lost 2lbs since, so I guess I'm at goal. Doesn't quite compute yet. I have gone from 226lb pre-op (with my highest weight 242lb) to 134. I was told when I have my tummy done that I will lose at least 5lbs more and two pant sizes...I'm in size six jeans now. Never in life would I have believed I would be at this point weight-wise. Enjoy the ride.

You should ask those people what they "think" you weigh now!! Numbers can be so interesting but you'll know where you want to be. And umm that medium frame he was all inside you. From xrays and seeing my bones I've been told I have a small-medium frame. Wouldn't know it with these size 10 feet. Makes me think of Paris Hilton cause she wears an 11 I think!!
Well girl enjoy your day!

My Doctor gave me a goal of 150 which I'm very disappointed with. I am 5'4 and have a medium close to small frame (depends on how its measured and by whom) I want to have a normal bmi. Inorder to do that I would have weigh 144 or less. This should be possible I would think. I was 240 on the day of surgery (litewieght) so to me it seems I should be able to get there. I set my personal goal at 130 --- what does everyone else think. Is that too small??? Am I kidding myself?? Is there a point where I will know if that is reasonable ( 6mos after surgery or some benchmark date)????
