"goal" weight

No, I havn't reached mine yet...calm down. ;)

I realized this morning that I'm only about 5 pounds away from -100 though, it kind of snuck up on me....it's exciting!

How do you know when to stop losing weight? I think my surgeon's number for me was 140. It seems so small. Even my trainer thought it was really small. I know I want a little bit of curve left when I get all the weight off, I don't want to look like skin & bones.

I'd be really happy at 150. However, when I tell people I still want to lose 70+ more pounds they think I'm crazy. Eyeball estimates are that I should lose 50 more.

Hard to believe that a goal weight is even in my near future now....

I'm a size 16 now, how small will I get?

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Congratulations, Monica - you're doing great!!!!   How tall are you?   Dr. Ali's goal for me is 150 and I am 5'3".    I told him I'd like to be under 140 (then I'd be out of the overweight category & at the top of the Normal range).... He said it is possible, but only with lots & lost of exercise & controlled eating.   It's possible he set my goal a little higher because I am a little older (ok, maybe a lot older) and I've carried the extra weight for a long time....    Anyway, you're doing great, so just keep it up!!!

I'm 5'5 and I'm 35 years old...I didn't even think of age as a factor.

I remember being told at Dr. Ali's office that I had a medium frame.  How could they know that? LOL!  I've never seen any of my frame before!!

Hey Monica, I here you on the "goal" weight thingy. I am 24 pounds away from were I want to be and it is so close for me that I can't believe it. I stared at 260 and I my goal is 145(that is my personal goal). Dr. Ali wants me to get to 150. It is so weird for me to go shopping cuz I can't believe I can shop in the "normal" people section and even sometimes the juniors section.  I went from a size 24 to a 12. It is so shocking. Girly keep up the great work.............

24 to go!? Wow, you could walk that off by getting ready for the 5k!  How do you feel right now? I think you look great, btw.  Do you feel like losing 20-25 more is within reach, do you think it's too much? Or do you want to lose more?

Don't worry about running the 5k by the way...you could easily walk the course and finish in about 40 minutes.

I didn't realize you started at 260....seems like so long ago, huh??

Save your 14s for me, I'm right behind you. :)

I so want to lose the last 25 pounds. I know I can do it.

My OH mommy and me are going to walk the 2k only cuz this is our first time doing something like this. I am going to work my way up to the 5k run.

I don't have many 14's because I skipped sizes 18-14. I went straight from a 20 to a 12. I just wore my 20's until they fell off of me. I will save you what I have.

I'm 5'9" and Dr. Tanaka's goal weight for me was 130!!!  Yes, 130!  I am at 170 feeling very comfortable and in a size 6/8/10 depending on where I shop.  I think your body will let you know when it is comfortable.  I can't even imagine myself 40 pounds lighter!! JudyAnne

Yikes! 130???? TOO SKINNY!  Sometimes I think I'd even be happy at 180, I'd still have junk in my trunk and in all the right places :D

Sorry to jump in here. I agree you would be too skinny at 130 . You exercise like crazy and have a lot of muscle and curves you know what I mean

Monica,

I am 5'5" and right now and 187. I'm a comfortable size 12 today and I feel pretty good. Though being the over achiever I would like to be 157. This is the top line of "normal" on the bmi chart.

At this point it's just wait and see what happens. My body is really slowing down on the weight loss. Now people are telling my not to get "too skinny". I'll tell them 30 more lbs and they get a worried look on their face. I say come on 157 is not anorexic.

My doc says I am already a success losing over 70% of my excess weight. They would like for me to find a comfortable spot that did not require 3 hrs of gym every night and no more yoyoing and healthy eating plan.
