Day 5 of the 5DPT -- are you there Beatrice?

Rachel!!!! I'm here.  I've had the week from hell, but managed to stay on the 5dpt for 3/4 of the time.  I lost 3 pounds, but I think it's because I've been so upset about all the drama in my life that I haven't eaten very much (usually I go the other way).  I think the protein shakes helped to keep me from carb binging which is what I would usually do when **** hits the fan.  I've been thinking of you all week, wondering how it was going.  GREAT JOB!  It's a big boost, like you say, to see those numbers go down.  I'm with you.  Hopefully my life will calm down a little this week, and I'll be ready to start again next week.  You may find you'll keep losing this week because the higher protein revved up your metabolism!  One thing I'm sticking to this week is that I replaced my latte and breakfast with a decaf latte and protein shake.  Having the shake in the morning makes be less hungry all day.  I want to thank you!  I've been off caffeine now for a couple of weeks, and I feel a lot better!  You got me thinking about bone density and ..... stuff, and I decided to go cold turkey.  Did have a delicious  1/2 glass of wine last night though... just because I made it to Friday!   Why half a glass?  With the lower caloric intake, it pretty much knock me on my a$$!   LOL. Congratulations darlin'!!!!!  Keep it up.

Hey Beatrice (does anyone ever call you Bea?) Great job. Sorry it was a stressful week. I totally blew it Friday night. DH took me for dinner on mothers day. Had half a bowl of barley soup, and TWO glasses of Pinot Grigio. So when I go home I had a bit of a buzz on, so I had another two glasses fo wine...Uggghh. Back on the wagon. Good for you with the caffiene. I don't miss it at all.  Here's to us keeping the diet clean next week!

Congrats on the 5DPT.  I ended up not losing anyomre from the initial 5 pounds, but man it felt good to see the scale go down. I see you plan to redo in a couple of weeks.  Keep us posted, if you do because I would like to jump on board with you.   Thanks, and i'm glad I didn't have to do this alone. Friday I didn't do as well because I did have a slice of pizza a few bites of coldstone and a couple of bites of cheese cake for my son's school's fundraiser.  I probably should have just given them the money.  LOL BUT I will continue working on the caloric intake and I find that I did not crave the carbs as much.  (The cheese cake and ice cream were put 'in my face', but I didn't necessarily feel an urge for them - yes, i know, story of my life!  heehee)

Good Job!  I  am starting on Monday.  Part of me is excited and part of me is bummed that I have to do it but I really need to get back to basics.  Thanks for sharing.  Jane

Hi Jane, One of the things I'm really working on right now letting go of ever expecting to be 'normal' food wise. I'm an addict and have to treat my addiction with whatever means necessary. This includes the 5 day. So instead of resenting it, I embraced it as a saving grace (like I embraced wls). It really helped my mind set! I'm routing for you! Keep me posted. Rachel
