I wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas, step moms, foster moms, great-grand mothers and grandmothers out there.  Thank you for all you do to love us, take care of us, feed us, clean us, provide for us, clothe us, teach us......   women are amazing creatures.

My prayers are also with those of you who may not have your mom anymore.

I posted this question somewhere else and got some great responses.   I think it would be fun to hear from everyone:   What important life lessons have you learned from your mom?

My mom (who is in my avatar today) has taught me to be a thrifty shopper.

To give generously when you love someone

To go after what you want in life, and let no one stand in your way. (Yes, that's where I get it from)

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Monica, Thank you for the post.  It is this time of year where it hurts not having Mom but, she is in my heart. What my Mom taught me : Go after what I want.  That I can do anything. Don't look back and keep going. Liz

Mom taught me compassion, kindness and the joy of family. Mom has always been my moral and ethical anchor when it comes to making decisions. Without her, I would be one cold hearted and lonely person. Ben

Aw! how sweet of you! Thanks! My mom isn't much of a talker. She's had (and continues to have) a very tough life! But I learned a lot from watching her. 1) Smile and laugh as much as you can! No matter what. 2) Love your loved one's with your heart and soul. 3) Love your enemies too. 4) If someone knocks you down, get right back up. 5) Never let what others do to you change who you are inside! I love my mommy!

Great post Monica My important life lesson that my mom taught me Never say what you can't do  any thing in life that you want reach out for it  work  hard for it and its yours might not come in the amount of time that we want it but in due time it ours for every thing in life there is a time and season so just never give up. She also said to all ways treat people the way you want them to treat you or better.
