Can anyone guide a newbie? I definately want lapband surgery but I'm not sure how to proceed or what to expect from my insurance companies/primary doctor. Does anyone have PACIFICCARE HMO out there w/some helpful tips? Time frame? Thanks, Slo

Hi and welcome. I don't have PC, but many insurances still don't cover lap. And your coverage can differ from group to group depending on the insurance plan your company selected with PChmo. So the first place to start is by calling your insurance to see if that particular procedure is covered. Try getting the exact wording of your rights as opposed to a yes or no answer. That will help you help your PCP use the right wording to get the approval you need. good luck

Thanks for the suggestion...I tried this morning and got hung up on twice...by my 3rd try they just said yes and referred me to my PCP. I'm not done w/them yet! But thanks and take care - Slo:)
