Just started today - again.  I thought I would put it out there to help me with accountability.  The weight has been slowly (or not!) creeping up to a point where this school year I have gone up almost twenty pounds.  HELP!!!! Thanks for listening,

Thanks! My coworkers just brought back their lunch.  UGH!!!!  Why do poeple have to eat!???  So far I have had two achiev ones and 1 liter of water.  I'm still ok.  I am soooo looking forward to day 3.  I am trying to remember if this is how it was as a newbie.  LOL

Many times you log onto the message boards to find a lot of fluff from newbies...I've been there and can relate to the early weight loss.  However, as much as it sucks, it's good for newbies and people considering surgery to see that years out, many of us STILL struggle to keep our weight under control.  Thanks for putting this out there...I know as well as you do that accountability is a big part of our success.  Good luck to you.

Thank you and YES it is a constant struggle.  I have been struggling hard core since the honeymoon period was over.  This year I forced myself to sign up for the 1/2 marathon in San Francisco in October because I am hoping it will kick me into being active.  If only they had also done surgery on my emotional eating.... sigh....

I'm curious, being a "Newbie" myself, what kind sort of "fluff" are you referring to? The comment kind of had a negative tone, so I just want to be sure that I don't committ that offense on the message boards.  I understood this forum to be a place to ask any question that we may have and gain support and wisdom from those that have experienced the journey that we are all currently on or beginning to undertake... am I wrong in this assumption? Thanks

The term "fluff" in my message was not intended to be negative or in any way insinuate that newbies' posts are annoying or offensive.  These boards are certainly meant for people to ask any question or share any information they please.   Although I think it was clear, the point I was trying to make was simply that it's nice for newbies and people researching WLS to see that there's more to this journey than the initial honeymoon phase that we all experience.   It is often hard to admit defeat and by doing so, she has helped others view what many of us who are further out have experienced.   As a side note...I used to post very frequently until I found myself explaining every post I made because someone had taken the information either out of context or too personally.  When I come out of "hiding" from time to time, I am often reminded why I became a lurker in the first place.

Hey there Stranger!

I totally got 100 % what you where saying!

As a very long term post op, long term board member and fighting regain. I love the support this board can offer. But like you, I find myself rarely posting anything of value for fear that it will be misread, misinterpreted, etc.

This site is an invaluable resource, for oldies and newbies alike.
