Good Morning oh wait it is afternoon.  I went out early this morning to Piru, for a bike time trial.  God I SUCK.  It was a 12 mile ride 6 out and 6 back.  I enjoyed myself but I soooooooooooooooo  want to ride faster.  It  took me 46:56  to ride 12 miles.  That is so sucky.  The lady that was timing it said that I did really well for someone coming out for a time trial for the first time. The next time trial will be the first Sunday in June.  I will beat that damn almost 47 minutes.  What has been going on with me.  I went to Cabo last week for my neices wedding and it was just beautiful.  My entire family looked beautiful .  Lindsey was just beautiful and her boyfriend very handsome.  My son also looked very handsome.  OMG my hubby he was soooooooooooooo  handsome.  The bride and groom were just breathtaking.  I had never met the groom before and all I could say was OMG what a hottie.  He and my niece when they have babies will have incredible looking kids. So coming home from CAbo our flight was canceled. There were 7 of us in my group that needed to get home.  I was totally freaked out.  My kids needed to be at school the next day.  I wasn't too freaked out about Lindsey but, Phillip was starting a new program at school and needed to be at home.  It has taken him a while to figure how to remove his head from his butt there was no way I would let him miss. So the kids were routed on a flight to mexico city and connecting with a flight to LA.  Well, then we were stuck in Cabo.  IT was NOT good.  you see I wasn't feeling so hot and started to run a temp had a sore throat and diarrhea. So here I am in a foreign country and the hotel that they put us up in didn't have bottled water easily available.  It seemed that they rolled up the sidewalks at about 6pm. The food sucked.  The original hotel we stayed in was awesome.  It sounds like I hated my trip but actually not.   I was sitting on the balcony in my original room on Thursday, Friday and Saturday watching the cruise ships come in and wondered it our cruisers were on any on the ships.  I took pictures of them from my balcony too. Man again the view from their was awesome. Well, time to go to the bike shop and get refitted on my bike. Liz

Ok, so yes I was a sleepyhead this morning and slept in (9am) and then had to do the whole post surgery morning process, so I am getting here a little late. But good afternoon to all. 6 days post op and doing great. Can I just say I love my sugar free jello!!! Gonna have shrimp for lunch, can't wait!  Remembering what all of you say, sip sip, walk walk... it's working for me. And I may be taking the advise some of you had about sneak some of my sisters shoes home (I'm staying in her "shoe room", I'll try and take a pic to post here soon, you won't believe it!) and leave in their place my "large marge clothes" ! LOL  Janine, I love your artwork! I used to paint my self. I am looking forward to getting back to it now in my "New Life". You definately should report the school as well as go on WC. I used to worked for a school district and was in a portable classroom, ended up being exposed to black mold and now have asthma and COPD because of it. When I brought it to the district office safety person she said it was subjective, because lots of people get adult onset asthma. I let it go unfortunately, and have yearly bouts with pneumonia and lots of respitory problems, I wish I would have fought harder. Also found out that several other preople in the district had severe problems because of these protables, mold infections, pulmiary problems, cancer and their are 3 related deaths from it. So as you can see it can lead to serious things. Think about it! Talk to your eye doctor about it to so that he can advise you and document it all for you. Good luck, you are in my thoughs and prayers. As fo the rest of my day, just babysitting the dogs and holding down the fort while my sis is at a baby shower. Enjoying the peace and quite (except the barking of the playing dogs, all 3 of them) hope that everyone is enjoying their day!   Lisa

Okay, okay, the day is just about gone, but I had a great day and wanted to share.  My dog, Flower, and I went to Soquel to Cinco de Fido at the Soquel High School.  That's near Santa Cruz, and about a 45 minute drive for us.  Flower was very impatient to arrive, and spent the whole drive with her nose out the back window.  They charged $5 per dog, and gave to a goodie bag with tons of stuff in it, including a cute Cinco de Fido bandana and lots of snacks and treats.  There were tons of vendors, and a costume parade, a weinie-bobbing contest, and an exhibition of Frisbee catching.  We had a good time! My surgery is coming up, and I have to admit that it is hard not to do a "last supper" kind of farewell to all these foods I won't be able to eat again for a long time.  How did you handle that? Oh goodness does that sound like fun!!!! I miss Santa Cruz sometimes as I use to ride my motorcycle there a lot!

As far as the food thing....I really had a hard time not gorging myself and felt like I was dead food walking...like having this surgery was a death sentence and I would never have a life again and a life without my crutches!

Well let me tell you Carol.....do the best you can do with the food prior to your surgery and if you blow it...you blow it!

As you get through the intial period of wls and mourning your old lifestyle it will give away to how good you feel and look....and let me tell you....NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS!

I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery! Bounce

Thanks, Janine.  You're kind words help.  There is a little mourning going on, along with a little panic.  I'm still very determined to have the surgery, and excited, but...   Carol
