I'm Home
I was sooooooo lucky after my RNY. I was able to sleep on my stomach from day 3 on!!!!!! But I have had severe siatica nerve pain a couple times which had me bed-bound and I had difficulty getting out of bed. I tied a rope from a very secure spot (my stair banister) and was able to pull myself out of bed by using the rope without straining my stomach or back muscles. Looks strange, but whatever helps!!!!!! I'm sure securing the rope to a door knob would work also. Hang in there.
Cheers,
Debbi
Hey Loser!! YEA April finally heh?
the gas will eventually pass, ya know that was the worst of the pain for me was that gas rumbling around
DRUGS I say..... that is how you manage to get around, they give them to us for a reason and I used mine the first couple of days, then I no longer needed them.
CONGRATS again and I hope you are up and around and dropping LBS like crazy soon!

YAY April.. welcome home.. I am so happy for you.. FINALLY!! As for the gas.. walk walk walk.. that is what helped me every time I had surgery and girl I had 5 c sections so I know how icky it feels.. its from being filled with all that air. Keep moving it honestly does help. As for getting in and out of bed.. it only bothered me the first week. I just did things slowely.. protecting my stomach. Its a new delecate part of you that needs to be protected so be very careful. I so hope you are feeling up to this coming Monday.. can't wait to see ya!! (((HUGS)))

Welcome home!! I'm glad to hear that your doing well besides the gassy stuff. I didnt have much myself so I dont have any advice for you there but I was very protective of my tummy for the first 2 weeks or so. I know it was a long time but I was paranoid! What I did when I stood up or laid down was held a pillow snug to my stomach, I really think it helped. I only had to do the pillow thing when sitting and standing for a couple days but since I have cats that like to run and use me for a trampoline, I would sleep with it on my stomach still for that little bit of protection
