Well gus...DON'T IGNORE WEIRD THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO YOU AFTER SURGERY!!! I can't stress that enough!  I have had 7 or so of these EPISODES  (SEVERE CONSTIPATION AND DRY HEAVING/VOMITING) and on Monday it was bad enough to send me to the ER and then on to see Dr. Higa.  My friend Heather drove me...and Higa admitted me within a few moments of looking me over.  I head over to Clovis Comm...in tears...my birthday was on Tuesday and I wanted to just go HOME.  Well, after a CT scan I was told NO FOOD...NO WATER...NO NOTHING...I presumed that might mean something...but still had it in my head..I would go home in the morning...Well....my birthday morning comes and in walks Dr. Higa...with the news...my intestines is turning itself inside out like a sock...so surgery is necessary!!!  I cried for hours...I hadn't planned this surgery...hadn't gotten to say good bye to my kids...etc...etc...So, he fits me in at 12noon  for emergency surgery....I came thru it with flying colors!!!   I was up walking so quickly...my throat hurt more from endoscopy then my 4 suture sites...all though this morning...that is opposite!!!  I am hurting now. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY HAD I NOT WENT TO THE DOCS AND IGNORED IT ANY LONGER....SO DON'T IGNORE YOUR BODY!!!! Cheri

OMG Cheri - that is so scary - and I am so glad you were on top of it and went to the dr.  Wow, we sometimes forget what can happen and we must be alert to our bodies. Thank you for sharing your experience and I am so glad that you are on the mend.  Take care and get some rest. Sending you lots of hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery.

You said: with the news...my intestines is turning itself inside out like a sock...so surgery is necessary!!!  This sounds like what is referred to as an intusseception. This is where the intestines become so irritated that they literally envelope inside themselves.  I raise cats, and this has happened to the feline world too. Unless caught in time, your intestines become fully blocked, and part if the intestine dies, and the intestine has to be resectioned to save the life. Good thing your doc was "on the ball". DAVE

Wow, honey, that is very scary stuff. I sure know about intestinal crap and everytime my hernias act up it scares the crap out of me (I wish that was literal  lol) . I've also had emergency hernia surgery and it is scary. That is why I'm pressuring my surgeon to get on the ball with my surgery before it is an emergency!  I'm so glad you took action and your surgeon was on the ball! Hope you are feeling better! Thanks for sharing so we can all be aware!  belated!!! Sorry you had to be in the hospital, but glad you got fixed up!!!     biggest hugs, Becky
