How Bad is the hair loss?
Everyone's experience after surgery will be a little different.
I didn't lose any hair. I began taking Biotin before I had surgery and still take it everyday. I've also been pretty good and meeting or exceeding my protein on a daily basis, I know that helped a lot too.

I was very lucky, when I had my last supper celebration I got about 4 jars of Biotin from different OHers. I think I'm only into my 2nd jar now. You can try picking some up at Vitamin Shoppe or even Target.

Hi there. I too started taking Biotin just before surgery and my hair loss was very little. I also kept my protein level up. I still to this day take Biotin I take 5000mcg's a day that's one pill and I get it from Walmart Rexall super potency and it comes 120 to a bottle. I think it was just a couple of $$$ not expensive at all. I believe any brand Biotin will do the same thing for you. I just looked for the best deal for my money. Now mind you I have very fine hair and it was not growing at all. it would break off. After surgery I lost a little but not enough to say so but when my hair came in it was thicker and nicer then before and it now grows with out breaking and another thing my own nails grown like weeds and are much stronger then before. I think Biotin is good weather you have the surgery or not. My 32 year old daughter and my 38 year old son have started taking it and there is a very noticable improvement in there hair and nails. take care and have a wonderful week.

Ditto to everything Monica P. said... I never had the hair loss problem, either and feel I owe it to the Biotin, water, and good eating.
