Anybody know of a good surgeon close to Calabasas,CA?

Hi, my name is Karen and Ive been wanting to get this bariatric surgery for the last 9yrs. Money has always been an issue but today my parents said they would help!!! Now I need to find a bariatric surgeon close to me who takes Bluecross ppo. Anyone know of one?

There is a Dr. Paya out of West Hills Hospital.  I ddid not go to him, cause my medical group sent me to UCLA.  But several people on this board have used Paya.  Check him out under Bariatric Surgeons.  Good Luck!!

Dr Peter Crookes at USC  they have free seminars in Pasadena every month they do the RNY, DS VSG and LapBand, they havce no bias just lay it out there for you. Even if you don't use them I recommend the seminar for info.  They are great with the Insurance stuff too, they me approved for the VSG on the first try with BSBC PPO http://www.uscuh.com/CWS/FindAnEvent.aspx

Hi Karen, I had lapband surgery done by Dr. Paya in West Hills. However, I'm not sure if he's accepting Blue Cross anymore. You'll probably want to give the office a call and ask. I am very happy with Dr. Paya and I've had no problems from surgery. Good luck with your search. Robin

Hi, Dr. Crookes from USC will be doing my DS in May.  The front office lady at my PCP had a DS with him a few years back and can't say enough about him.  He is very thorough.  My insurance approved on the first try. Kathy
