Any support groups in the Monterey area?

I am looking for a support group in the Monterey area? I have my first consultation on May 7th. Up to this point I have just been information gathering but would like to get in a group before the BIG day. Would be wiiling to travel up to 60 minutes if need to be. 

Go back a few days, to Steves post about support groups. He post about them every wednesday.

Hey, I'm a "DeAnna" too, and I am moving to Monterey soon!  I know they have something at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP), but I don't know the date and time.  I'm sure I will see you there, when we figure it out!

Hi---there is a lecture at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula ("chomp") on May 1---and their support group is Thursday May 8th----6:30pm--- well---not before your consult---but it is a good group of people in various stages---from info gathering to waiting for date to 5 years out! Just a clarification. The May 1 meeting is a lecture offered by Dr. Vierra (local surgeon). He discribes the options available in WLS. It is informative and required before making an appointment with Dr. Vierra. The support group meeting is May 8. This is available to anyone interested in having or have had WLS and their support members. The support group meetings are the 2nd thursday of the month at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) 6:30 to 8:30. See you there. Susanne
