Hey Shells, you can do this! Stay calm and try to relax this is the best thing you can do for your self and your family! I am almost 3 months out and I feel great, more energy then when I was a kid! I had very little pain; this was something I thought through before I ask my PCP for the referral. I have read your post for the last year and I know you are ready for this! Take care! Hugs, Lisa

SHELLS

CRYING IS NORMAL, WORRING IS NORMAL, BEING SCARED IS NORMAL.... WELL GUESS YOUR NORMAL. YOUR SURGERY WILL BE NORMAL ALSO.  TO BE HONEST WITH YOU I FELT BETTER RIGHT AFTER THE SURGERY THEN BEFORE I DID AND EVERYDAY AFTER THAT, I KID YOU NOT. DON'T KNOW IF I WAS LUCKY OR IT WAS THE FRAME OF MIND I WAS IN OR WHAT.

SERIOUSLY I DID FEEL GREAT. I HAVE NEVER FELT THAT GOOD AFTER A SURGERY BEFORE, AND I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF THEM.    I EVEN HAD TO ASK THE DR IF HE REALLY DID ANYTHING BUT MAKE HOLES IN ME.  I WOULD HAVE THE SURGERY AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING IF THEY ASKED ME TO.

YOUR RIGHT IT IS FUNNY HOW OUR BRAIN WORKS AND TAKES OVER SOMETIMES. I TOO THOUGHT I WOULD BE THAT ONE IN A MILLION THAT HAD THE COMPLICATIONS, YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT RIDICULOUS THERE NORMAL.

IF YOU CAN START THINKING ALL THOSE POSITIVE THOUGHTS, AND THINKING ABOUT HOW YOU WILL LOOK AND FEEL SOON AND HOW MUCH SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE PAMPERING YOU AFTER YOUR SURGERY EVEN THO YOU REALLY WON'T NEED IT. IT'S STILL FUN TO MILK IT.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET USE TO THE TEARS COMING OUT OF NO WHERE FOR A WHILE AS IT JUST MIGHT HAPPEN AFTER SURGERY.. IT HAPPEN ONCE OR TWICE TO ME. NOT AS OFTEN AS SOME AND MORE THEN OTHERS.

I WILL HELP YOU WITH THE POSITIVE THINKING PART AND START SENDING ALL THOSE POSITIVE VIBES YOUR WAY SWEETHEART.

TAKE CARE AND HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.

Aww SB -- I was so scared once I got to the hospital -- so sure that I would in no way go through with it -- I stood there needing to change into a hospital gown, secretly wishing the doctor would come by and say that I SHOULD NOT DO IT!

Then, I came to my senses -- and once I had made the decision taht it was a GO -- I went and it has been great since that moment.  There is no reason to think that anything will go wrong unless your doctor is a butcher.  Wait!  He's not a butcher!  You researched everything ahead of time, and have every reason to feel confident!

I'm joking of course ... there's hardly a person alive who doesn't hesitate before letting a total stranger (or anyone else) cut into them!

You're gonna do great!
