Thank you,  I am going to be a bit vulnerable here....I don't know how to socialize all that well. People talking and laughing make me nervous. Sounds freakish, doesn't it? Please don't get me wrong, I love happy supportive atmospheres! What I'm saying is I don't know *how* to consistently behave & be comfortable in a social framework. I do OK one on one but its when there is a gaggle of people in an interactive dynamic setting I just sort of sit there overwhelmed.  I got off the phone with my insurance company and members benefits... and they don't cover the surgery. I'm not sure what to do now. I'm 44 and afraid I will die from this addiction. GO. PS, is there a way I can track my own postings ...I'm forgetting where I"m posting at.

awww Golden!  Please come!

WhenI first went to coffe I was nervous and felt like big old ugly tub-o-lard.  To me, it felt like everyone knew each other and was best friends and I was an outsider.  But I was welcomed with open arms and I leanred so much from talking to others who had gone before me.

There were even a few times in the beginning where I drove to coffee and kept going because I just got too bashful....so it's not just you.

Bite the bullet, join us!! See you tomorrow!

don't worry...we're not all THAT dynamic.... HEEheehee....

well, once we get all hopped up on caffeine, there's no stopping us!

Totally understand the fear of groups... come on anyway... we usually just mingle and talk one on one with whomever is sitting near us!

Hiya!  Well, I just joined a month ago and am pending my surgery approval....nice to see a local group nearby, I live in Torrance.  =)  I would love to attend one of your Starbucks gatherings sometime (tomorrow we are taking the kids to Disneyland).   Does your group meet often? *on pins and needles*  Take care, Anna

HI Anna sorry you can't make it tomorrow but we get together on the last Sat of every month at the same location....just keep an eye out for the posts here on the cali board.  And, sometimes we even do an impromptu gathering in the middle of the month.  So if not tomorrow, then next time. Have fun at Disneyland.  My best friend lives in Torrance and I go out there quite a bit....and I lived in Torrance for several years (many years go) myself....where abouts are you? take care
