Queestion for Dr. Krahn's patients

I have been approved for WLS with Dr. Krahn. I missed the seminar thing last night.

The other bad news is that my husband was notified that he is being laid off in 6 weeks, so my insurance is up at the end of June (we can probably do COBRA for another few months before we run out of cash), so doing this quickly is a MUST.

Dr. Krahn's office is mailing me the registration/information packet so I can get my appt in quickly.

For those who went to the seminar, what, if anything, did I miss? I suspect that it was like the seminar I attended for the USC program - basics of the surgery, complications, lifestyle changes etc - to weed out the non-serious folks.

Also, does he have appointments in Riverside? His office on my referral is in Riverside, but the paperwork says he's in San Bernardino. Does he only operate in San Bernardino?

Hi Aimee, first of all congrats on getting approved!! Second, Dr Krahn is an awesome doctor. I totally love him!!   I think most seminars are the same.  The basics and the types of surgeries he does. He does surgeries at Parkview in Riverside and St Bernardine in San Bernardino. I had mine at St Bernardine. The  care I got there was superb, I cant say enough good things about the hospital and its staff. Good luck and take care..

Dr. Krahn ROCKS!  He is awesome, cant say enough good about him.  Since you missed the seminar, there is one on Tuesday May 6th at 6pm, with the Riverside support group meeting right after that.  Dr. Krahn and Dr. Coon both are there, should be some good info for you.  I was told that you can have your appointments in either Riverside or SB, but bear in mind he is only in the Parkview office once per week, so may be harder to get one scheduled.  He does operate at Parkview also, but for his patients that are higher BMI, he does those at SB since they have the equipment to handle it.  If you go to the meeting on the 6th, I will see you there! Good Luck, you wont regret choosing him as your doctor, he is strict but he is the absolute best in my book.  I trust him with my life.

Thanks for the info - the sheet the office sent me said the next seminar was on May 13, not the 6th, and it was in SB. I suspect that I got into the "wrong" group since I'm in Corona and should be going to Riverside.
