I am still around, I need help!!
Hey Cali Crew,
I know, I know it has been forever since I have posted or even been on. I miss all of you and I really need the support.
Here goes......................................any help will be helpful!!
I am 5 and a half months out and feel like I have lost all I am going to lose. I have lost 85 lbs total. I need to lose about another 40 pounds, but it seems like I am hitting platos (sp?) alot more lately. Has anyone run into this problem? If so what did you do to get out of it?
Thanks everyone!!

Dont worry. Everything is happening as it should. You lose a great percentage of your excess weight in the first seven months or so, then the remaining weight comes off at a much slower rate, but it does come off. It all depends on what your starting weight was, etc.....
Keep doing what you have been doing until now. Dont get discouraged. Those forty pounds will come off....................this is the hard part. You just have to be patient.
What I did was work out 5 days a week for a month solid, then take a week off from working out at all. Then I started hard again, with a whole different work out. You have to keep your metabolism on its toes. Dont give it any time to get used to your workout routine, or diet routine. Keep changing things up. It works.

Two words...sugar & carbs. A small amount of sugar will not destroy your weightloss esp if it comes from fruit. But if you have been adding simple carbs to your diet (examples...pastries, breads, cakes, rice, pasta, potatoes) you will find a quick stop to the weight loss. If you have been a "good girl" and not touched that stuff you should be fine. You will continue to drop. BUT if you have not...From someone who introduced carbs and sugar back into their diet and has gained 15 pounds since hitting goal. Brian
6-8 months is the typical end to the "honeymoon period" after WLS where the surgery has done most of the work. NOW, you have to use your head and make the TOOL created in surgery work for you. Exercise, proper water intake, protein, vitamins and calcium citrate, reading labels well before buying foods, etc.--all the things you should be doing make a BIG difference at this stage of the game. Stalls will happen. But, if you haven't really watched your diet well, slacked off on exercise,etc.--now is the time to put all of those things into action. Over a 7 month period, I lost 100 pounds, working out to a little under 1/2 pound per day. It then took several months to lose another 20 pounds. Now at 2 years out, I've just lost another 5 pounds. Yes, I can "cheat" once in a while, but not on a daily basis. I was in no mood for my exercise walk today, but I did it because I knew it had to be done. If I stop one day, that day becomes two, etc.
