Have to ask liver specialist to recommend me

Hey guys me again! I was told by my PCP that I need to ask my Liver Specialist to write me a letter sayng its safe to have the wls surgery. (High numbers with fatty liver) I am afraid to ask him because when I talked to him about the surgery before and he kind of rolled his eyes and looked at me like come on just loose it! I'm not sure if he is going to go for it. But Im going to ask anyways.....well I have fatty liver and this surgery will help me with this condition right? Anyone have to to do this?

Gotta love those eye-rollin' medical professionals!  Sorry you have to go through that.  Maybe there is someone in your area with a more supportive liver doc.  Sometimes just remindint the docs that the medical jounals hands down support that WLS is the best long term treatment for MO.  Let us know how you fare.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!  Doctors.  I had a very bad fatty liver, plus I have other liver disease and I had no problem at all.  My WLS doc knew before hand and was prepared for the liver issue.  YES the surgery helps with the liver.  My liver specialist was so happy that I had did surgery.  I saw him about 2 months after I had surgery.   If you need any other assistance let me know.  I haven't looked to see what area you live in so I can't assist in maybe getting you another specialist. You know that most of us had fatty liver before surgery .. it just comes with the territory of eating what every we want for years. I would find a new PCP or go on your own to a surgeon and have them help you in finding a PCP that will help you along with the process it is soooooo worth it!
