I am sure that this has been asked a multitude of times and sorry to sound redundant.... Just wondering how Celebrex acts with our tummies.  I was given some samples by my orthosurgeon last week and have been taking them to relieve my back pain (which hasn't, BTW) but he said that it should be easier than regular nsaids.   Anyone know?  Liz? Darlene?  Bueller? teehee Thanks kids!

I take it and have had no problems with it on my tummy at all.  My ortho insists that I continue to take it because he said it is better like your doc has said.  It doesn't get rid of my back pain or my knee pain, but it lessens it to maybe almost bearable.   Thanks for calling me a kid Hugs, Diane and her dog Vicki

Vicki I used it for the first 2 1/2 years after my surgery and did fine with it. My surgeon said the way it is made we absorb it sooner so it will not cause the ulcers other NSAIDS will. Hugs Jenn

I also use it with no problems at all.  I actually thought it was not working UNTIL I went off them for my recent knee surgery.  Then I found out that they had indeed been helping.  I am very happy to be back on them.

My surgeon has prescribed Celebrex several times, with one caveat. He wants the patient to take a Prilosec an hour before to help coat the pouch area.  I know of at least 3 cases where he's prescribed this--one to his father in law some 9 years ago, one to a patient I met at one of his seminar groups, and one patient in my support group. There are probably others too.  So he thinks it's OK, as long as you take the Prilosec beforehand.
