Well I had the gas from HELL!!!!!!!!!!!  The best advise I got was from my surgeon.  I stood in the shower with my back to the spray and drained the water heater a couple times a day and walked.  A heating pad on low on the small of my back was my best friend.   It lasted about 3 days.  The heat and the walking did the trick.  Like Steve said Gasx works for intestinal gas not the kind you have in your abdomen from surgery.  Good luck

More and more doctors test the pouch for leaks by blowing tons of air into it.  Years ago they didn't.  They forced people to get an upper GI after RNY.  Now just lots of air=lots of gas.  Below is what I posted 6 months ago on this question.  It may help.  As you move around don't damage the incisions!          Take these all with a grain of salt.  Old husband tales...Things I have heard on the boards here and at support groups.  Rolling around on the floor, getting your body into different positions so the gas can move throught your system.  Also you can try to work out the gas by massaging your abdomen (like you would work out a charlie horse).  And lastly (the one I used), try bending over like you have to tie your shoes, yet without bending your knees, (like PE toe touches).  Hope one of these work...Brian

I just had WLS on Tuesday and didn't have gas pain but a little discomfort. I slept on my right side with bed up a little and it helped alot. Also the more you walk the better it will be. Good luck on the 23rd.

Stephanie,     I'm getting around just fine and I live in a two story house. . Yesterday I went to my son's baseball game and then had to take a nap afterwards. Just make sure your getting in the liquids that you need everyday. I'm down to one pain pill a day at night. You are going to do great. Jennifer
