POST OP GAS
More and more doctors test the pouch for leaks by blowing tons of air into it. Years ago they didn't. They forced people to get an upper GI after RNY. Now just lots of air=lots of gas. Below is what I posted 6 months ago on this question. It may help. As you move around don't damage the incisions! Take these all with a grain of salt. Old husband tales...Things I have heard on the boards here and at support groups. Rolling around on the floor, getting your body into different positions so the gas can move throught your system. Also you can try to work out the gas by massaging your abdomen (like you would work out a charlie horse). And lastly (the one I used), try bending over like you have to tie your shoes, yet without bending your knees, (like PE toe touches). Hope one of these work...Brian
Stephanie, I'm getting around just fine and I live in a two story house. . Yesterday I went to my son's baseball game and then had to take a nap afterwards. Just make sure your getting in the liquids that you need everyday. I'm down to one pain pill a day at night. You are going to do great. Jennifer
