Protein Powder Question?

Anyone know how long a canister of protein powder is good after you open it?

I am sure all the brands are different, but I figure there's gotta be a rough generality? There is an expiration date on the canister but I am guessing that is meant for the length of time you can keep it unopened?

I need to start having protein shakes as meals for my pre-op diet and I have a canister of powder, but I have had it a long time...I have mostly been drinking the samples I have been collecting lately.

I am thinking I just need to buy a new canister anyway, but I thought I would ask.

Thanks guys!

Well, I say if there are no weevils, it's probably still good!  But I am probably wrong!  LOL!

it should have an expiration date on it.

Any container of protein is good until the expiration date on the container. You can also keep protein in the freezer (no, it doesn't freeze, just gets cold) if you think you are using it slowly and want to insure it's freshness. But yes, it's still good until the expiration date.
