fatty liver and surgery ??

I have a very fatty liver, will a doctor refuse to perform surgery on ,me because of this? Or is this more hard evidence for the insurance company that I need this surgery? Thanks-Kitty

I'm not an expert, but my guess is that the surgeon may just require you to lose some weight before surgery to make the liver healthier! A lot of surgeons require some liver defatting prior to WLS! Good luck to you and may God bless your journey! hugs, Becky

They will still do surgery on a patient with a fatty liver. It's a bit more difficult to do the surgery, but start now and lay off some of the fatty foods, and lose some weight before surgery, and it will be much better for you in the long run. Good luck
