Like Rosanne Rosannadanna used to say, "if it's not one thing, it's another!".... any of you oldtimey people like me remember Gilda Radnor?

I took Dad to radiation yesterday...here he is getting set up for the treatment:

My mom found out that she has a heart problem that needs to be looked into before they will do her cataract surgery. She has "left bundle branch block".... she's dong ok today, but freaked out initially when she got this news, as you might expect.

I had a biopsy Wednesday on my thyroid nodule... will get the pathology on that probably Monday.

Amber is getting better, but needs to have another surgery on Wednesday... there is a part of the skin down at the bottom of the injury that needs to be cut out, because it died... Vet said it's no big surgery, but she'll be in the hospital again for the day. No word on payment from the Pitt owners yet... am I holding my breath? NO.

I read this quote today: "I marvel at the way that HOPE keeps breaking through; it is the Life in me, that keeps on re-enacting Resurrection" (Gloria Gaither)....

God keeps filling me and my family with His hope, and with great love for one another at this time. Dad turns 82 tomorrow...another birthday to treasure...

thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support!

Lori, Dad, Mom, Amber....

Ok, I must be an oldtimey person because I remember Gilda Radner and her Rosanne Rosannadanna!  My heart just goes out to you and your family! Is there no end to the issues! I think it is in the air these days for everyone!!! So I guess we can have hope in knowing that we aren't alone!!!  The radiation does NOT look like fun at all!! Not that I thought it was, but never seen a picture of what it looks like!  I hope this thing with your mom isn't too major and can easily be fixed! And I'm praying your pathology results will be positive news too!!!  Poor Amber, she must be one tough trooper!!! Those Pitt owners better step up to the plate and take some responsibility!!! There are plenty of us on OH to form a posse to go after them for you!!! lol  to Dad tomorrow!!! 82 is alot to be proud of!! Hope you have a great day with him!!!  You know you are in my prayers honey for all of these issues and more!  You continue to be an inspiration to us all with your hope and strength in times of adversary!!! God bless you all!!!        love, Becky

Thank you, Becky, for your love and prayers...our whole family appreciates it so much!!  Dad is being a good trooper through these hard times... I admire that about him...he makes the best of what is going on, and he makes friends easily with everyone around him...whether it's his Starbucks baristas, or the nurses and radiologists....

I miss him when I am not with him...silly, huh?

God bless you today...

OH LORI

I WAS JUST ON THE PHONE TO MY HUBBY WHO HAD CALLED ME, AND I WAS AT THE END OF MY ROPE AND IN TEARS. IT WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHEN IF IT CAN GO WRONG IT WILL AND IT HAS,SO I THOUGHT.

THEN I COME TO THE BOARD AND READ YOUR POST, NOW I FEEL STUPID FOR CRYING ABOUT THE MINOR THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPEN HERE.

THE PICTURE ALONE IS HEART BREAKING AND I MUST SAY A LITTLE SCARY FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME THAT HAS KNOW IDEA WHAT RADIATION IS LIKE OR WHAT IS INVOLVED. AND THEN TO HEAR EVERYTHING YOUR GOING THROUGH. WOW... YOUR A STRONG LADY AND I WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY NOTHING BUT THE VERY BEST.

YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY,RIGHT DOWN TO AMBER ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. SENDING YOU A TON OF POSITIVE VIBES AND WELL WISHES.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

thanks, Jodi!!  Big stuff is big stuff, no matter HOW big it is...we sure need those prayers right now... the funny thing is, we all feel God's special peace in the middle of it all.... right now, however, I am just plain stinking lonely inside...and I know it is a loneliness that comes from the upcoming (at some point) loss of my parents... I took them for granted for so long...and now, when I am not around them, I am lonely for them... it's a good thing...to realize this while they are still here to love on as much as possible....  Thank you soooo much for your love...I am sending it right back out to you.... xoxxoo Lori ps....the radiation treatment is especially weird for someone with head and neck cancer, as they mold a special mask to form fit to the patient's head, then they bolt it down to the table so the radiation beam is precise. I would have claustrophobia for sure.... Dad is being such a good trooper....
