RUDE PEOPLE

I have been thinking about buying a bike to ride to and from work. Its only 3 miles one way, so that would 6 miles a day. I am going to barrow a bike from friends, to see IF I would indeed ride it enought to justify spending the money for one.

So, taking Liz's advice, I went to a bike shop to get "fitted" for a bike, I was not going to buy a bike from them, just wanted to find out want size I should buy when I do get one. So I wonder around a bit, looking at things. Even find this bike that I could so see me riding. Way cute and I think just about the right size. I was standing there looking at, when this guy that works there comes over and ask if he could help. So I tell him, I just looking for a knock around bike, that I could ride to and from work.

WOW!!

"We don’t sell knock around bikes, we are serious biking store." I was so embarrassed, I know I turned about 4 shades of red. So I just told him. I understand, sorry to waste your time, and walked out. (so proud that I didn't go running from the store)

Now I remember why I was a shut in when I was cow. It was men like that jack butt. I looked to see if they had a web site but couldn't find out. I was  going to go and post some "loving" remarks about him. The guy was a total jerk, and he could have handled that in a much better way. I think I might call them and ask to speak the ower and tell him about what happened. Maybe take a add out in the paper? HEY NOW! I could so do that, and I would be in the right, I think.

What do you think.

Hay, I would defiantly give feed back to the company, via the manager, or corporate.  Placing an add in the news paper, that is up to you.  I am going to Wal Mart to buy my bike next month.   Good Luck, Annabelle

I am going to call the shop tomorrow, or on monday and talk to the top dog.

Make sure you let the "Top Dog" know that they lost business, because there was a bike you liked. Annabelle

Lu I hope the guy is on commission - cause if so, he is gonna STARVE!!!  What a jerk!  Dont let the turkey jerky get to ya!!! That is a great idea to ride to work - wish I lived close enough to do that.  I loved riding a bike when I was younger.  It makes you feel so good. I am for calling the owner.  They need to know how they are being represented  - especially in their own store.   And that guys attitude lost them a  sale - cause if he was not a snob, you may have gone back in a while and bought that cute bike.

As soon as I walked out of the store, I called Liz, man o man she was  upset. So I am not going to give up the idea, just going to have to look around for another shop. Might be one in San Bernardino.

I remember riding bikes as kids. I enjoyed myself. And think I would do the same thing now. I will get me a bike. Just not there.

I know he lost a sale, because, I so liked that bike. It was soooooo cute. And it was only about 40 $ more then I had thought about putting out to begin with. OR I could have told Kevin about it since my birthday is coming up. .

Write a letter or send an email to the owner of the store.  Or look up the business on Yelp and write about it, people should know about stuff like that!!!!  A sale is a sale, even if you never rode the darn bike!!!

I checked out YELP when you posted about it before, I might just do that. I have found the onwer. And now I have the web site and I am going to post my remarks on that site for sure, and I am going to call the onwer on monday. I even have the guys name. Poor thing, he don't who he was messing with.

Still bike-less in Riverside, but now with hope.

Can't see much on your profile, as it appears to be private. I live near Riverside, and it say you're going to have the same surgeon I had.  There are other bike shops around. Find a shop that has a better attitude.  You'll probably want a multi speed heavy frame bike.  Getting a cheapie on sale some place probably won't last very long. Yes, it's a good idea to borrow one to try first.  You need to find a seat that is comfortable, handlebars that fit you correctly, etc. So you need to find some kind of shop that is not a "yuppie shop" where they'll treat everybody in a courteous manner.  I'd take advantage of the mulitple support groups your surgeon has in Corona, Redlands, Murietta, as I do. They helped me a lot, and I still attend these meetings every month.
