Has anyone used Dr. Peter LePort?
Hello, my name is Linda and I live in the Long Beach area. I have completed all of my insurance requirements except for the Nutrition class which I go to the end of April. I have been to a couple of support groups and I am always reading this message board. If anyone has used Dr Leport, and would like to share the experience, I would appreciate it.
Have a great day
I met Dr Leport a few years back at a conference in the Los Angeles area. I was very much impressed with him and thought that if I ever needed any more work that I would choose him. He talked to me for quite some time, was not rushed and seemed to be genuinely concerned about the issues I presented to him.
Good luck with your journey.

Good Morning! I'm in Long Beach too! I had my surgery done by another doctor in Dr. LePort's group: Dr. Ali. The entire program is fantastic and I would recommend any of the surgeons to a friend, although I'm somewhat partial to Dr. Ali. You're in good hands, and everything you need to be prepared for post-op life will be made availble to you.
Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

I am also with that office, my first choice was Dr Ali but he scheduled his vacation on the week I was booked so I went with Francais. She was the best DR ever! I'm actually happy i had her now. I'm 4 days post Op. My husband is having surgery next Thursday with Ali and he is very happy with his choice as well.
I did meet Dr LePort for a brief discussion and i found him very nice as well.
Good luck your in good hands with anyone in that office.

I had Dr LePort for my surgery, which was a year ago this month.
He was VERY good. Sat down in a chair in the exam room and had all the time in the world to answer all my questions and put me completely at ease.
The morning of the surgery he met with my family and me in the hospital room before the surgery, told them & me exactly what was going to happen and again, answered questions. I saw him for a moment (before I was put out) in the surgery room. After surgery he again came to my room to check on me.
He was very difficult to get an appointment with after the surgery. Because he was so booked, I had my followups with his assistants. I was disappointed I wasn't able to see him but the assistants were excellent. Couldn't complain about them in the least. Very nice and extremely knowledgable..
I've heard good things abut the Orange hospital but mine was Fountain Valley Hospital. I didn't care for that hospital at all!!!
Thank you so much for the feedback. I was originally going to fountain valley, but because of my insurance I have to go to orange. But from what you said, that may be a good thing. As soon as I go to my nutrition class, they will be submitting the request for authorization. I can't wait. I had an appointment last saturday for the class, but my 14 year old daughter had a basketball injury, so I spent the day in the ER . I am hoping to have surgery in June when my daughter is on summer break.

I had Dr. Chin, who is a member of Dr. LePort's practice. They are amazing. I had surgery at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center and I could not have asked for better care. It is a "Center of Excellence" for obesity surgery, and honestly, my recovery was a breeze. You will be happy that you had your surgery there. Trust me.
Good luck and see you on the other side.
