OT - Kidney Stone update
First, thank you all for the support you have given me through this painful experience.
Now - the update. I went and had pictures taken yesterday and followed up with the Urologist today. The stone hasn't moved and since it is causing constant pain, we decided to go get it. He will go in with a scope, break it up and remove it. He will put in a stint that will stay for several days. How long will depend on "how beat up" my kidney is. I start on Anti-biotics tomorrow to make sure I don't develope an infection before, during or after the procedure.
I'm not so excited about having to have it removed but I am greatful that I won't have to wait on the edge of my seat indefinately, until it passes. Apparantly, due to its size, there was only about a 40% chance I was going to pass it on my own anyway. Now, I'm waiting for the surgery cooridinator to contact me to schedule. The Dr. does intend to have me all healed up in time to go to Canada on the 23rd.
Thanks again for bein here!
Sue

Well thank God they are taking care of it now! When I had mine, they played games with me and it was insane!!
The actual procedure won't be bad, but I must admit that having the stent was one of the worst experiences of my life!!! Don't want to scare you, but just want you to be aware! I had mine for 2 weeks and it was PURE HELL!!! I lived on Peridium and Vicodin. The stent makes you feel like you have a bladder infection. I would ask for Peridium up front in case it acts that way for you! I will pray it doesn't have to stay in too long!!! I'm praying you have a MUCH better experience than I did and I will be thrilled for you if you do!!!
You are in my thoughts and prayers (still)!!! big hugs, Becky
