Your pounds will only be gone forever if you never go back to your old eating habits.  You are still short term when it comes to having surgery.  I don't mean to sound like a downer, but you HAVE to change your eating habits for the rest of your life.  Keep that in mind and those lbs will be gone forever, Good luck, Diane

I guess you did not read my morning post Cheri. Nothing is "forever" except death. There are a number of people here including me who put back on significant amount of weight post wls. You might think you are going to be the only one who will NEVER go there again...but think again sister...whether it is 5 - 10 pds....I guarantee you.....you will gain if you think that your weight is gone "forever." Bad eating habits when we get sloppy after awhile will catch up to you...and I feel qualified to say something because I am nearly 6 years post op and there are only a handful of people here who are longer termed than me.

I think it is great that you have lost 41 pounds so far,but lose "forever" out of your vocabulary or you are headed to a slippery slope someday!

As I stated above I know that this isn't forever, unless I make it so.  I have never taken this lightly...the decision was a 2 year long thought process...I guess I was just happy to reach a mini goal and used the word FOREVER out of context.  I know what I have to do..and I am doing it.  I am glad I made this choice and know it saved my life! Thanks for the input. Cheri
