**OT** Road Trip to GC

Ok, so I had a bad case of cabin fever...I emailed my husband at work on Thursday: "Honey, wanna do a road trip after work on Friday?" "Sure, whatja have in mind?" "The Grand Canyon!" "Honey, it's not April Fools Day anymore!" "I'm serious!" So, we went....I was going to toy with my SP by sending them a post card from there, but foolish me, I thought it would be easy to buy stamps there.    (Note to self: always bring stamps!!!) We left after work Friday at around 7:30 and got to our hotel in Phoenix around 1am.  We took a quick side trip thru Sedona, that's where the new avatar pic was taken.  We got to the GC around 2, it was gorgeous weather, about 65 and not that crowded...perfect!  It was about 35 when we left Sunday morning after taking some early morning shots.   We stayed at the Maswik Lodge right in the park, that was very cool.  When we checked in, the woman asked if we had any issue with staying on the 2nd floor.  Nope!  Bring it on, sistah!    The rooms had recently been redone, and we could actually open the window and let in fresh air!  With it getting down into the low 30's at night this time of year, you wouldn't want to leave it open!  And the stars!  Oh my goodness!  Just breathtaking! I posted some pics in my profile dohickey....enjoy! What was cool: Not minding having my picture taken...and sending them to people who haven't seen me in awhile and getting REALLY positive messages back from them. Having the energy to do some nice walks without my lower back killing me. xo Kim

What a great little road trip for the both of you! I think I know where you were in that pic outside of Sedona...where you on that road that goes up to Flagstaff and through that Oak Canyon? It looks like it!

I have had more fun trips through AZ and up on into Utah....some real spectacular scenary for sure. People tend to forget that even though it is the desert...it is high desert and it gets quite cold there at night. A lot of the times I have passed up the GC and have gone to smaller canyons because of the rude tourists. Canyon DaShay (spelled phonetic because I do not know how to spell it the real way) is a spectacular canyon...smaller of course, but you can really see it and photograph it too! LOL Trust me Kim the pro's do not find it easy to photograph the GC.

You look great and I am really happy that you got out and better yet....that you are feeling so great about yourself!!! Kisses

Hi Janine, the one pic in front of Bell Rock was taken on the main drag going thru Sedona, and the one of me is on 89A at a groovy little rest stop close to Flagstaff, lots of Native American people selling beautiful jewlery.
