Fatigue after Surgury
Had vsg surgery 2 weeks ago and although the actual surgury went well, and I am healing well, I am having extreme fatigue, and also whenever I eat anything, I have a lot of pain. I have been drinking as much fluid as possible so as not to get dehydrated, but I am so tired all of the time that I can barely function. Having a hard time eating because even one small bite of mashed up food causes stomach pain. I can only eat about 1/2 of an egg and then I have had enough. What I want to know is, is this normal. Should I be this tired, and how long does it last? Also, should it hurt my stomach to eat even one bite? Any info would be appreciated.
I can not comment on the pain. I had a different surgery. You should ask your surgeon about it.
I was terrible tired for weeks and weeks. I napped every day. I could not stay up late. I would guess three months I was tired. It does get better. Soon you will be the energizer bunny.
Best of luck.

I saw Dr. Husted the other day, and he said that all my symptoms are normal. He checked me out and said that I am doing great. My regular MD did a blood test to make sure my blood glucose, potassium, iron etc.. are ok, and everything was great.
I actually started to feel a little better today, so maybe im doing better. I do feel better though, just knowing that what im feeling is normal, I was just worried.
I really like Dr Husted. He was great. I would use him again in a second. Very good bedside manor, and takes a long time to answer any questions. When my husband called him a few days ago with a question, he called back personally within 5 minutes, and he left his personal phone number just in case I needed to get ahold of him quickly.
If you need , or have any other questions , just drop me a note. ...........Carrie. B.
