OT: as usual! Dad, Amber, Dave

Well, here is an update on my dad, my dog, and my dave...LOL...

Dad resumes his radiation treatments on Monday. He had ONE treatment back in February, and then has spent the last month fighting off (and winning!) a horrible infection from his feeding tube (which he will NOT have put in ever again). So, back to treating the cancer (laryngial). Seven weeks or so of M-F treatments are ahead for him.

My dog, Amber, was attacked by a Pit Bull down the street while we were out walking on Tuesday. We were almost home, and the dog came rushing out of its front door and latched onto Amber in a death grip. It was horrible. A nightmare. She is lucky to be alive. If the dog had grabbed her just a few inches higher, it would have been her throat and she would be dead. I am thankful for wonderful Veterinary care, and miracles.

Dave (the guy in my avatar with me) and I have been dating for a year now! Happy anniversary to us! We're dressing up and going out to a fancy schmancy restaurant in Long Beach tonight!

Oh Lori - I am so sorry to hear about Amber.....but glad that you have a good vet - and of course your faith - which will pull her through with flying colors. What happened with the pit bull - did animal control take it? I HOPE.....Sorry but I DO NOT like pit bulls..... I will continue to pray for your dad that he makes it through radiation without many problems... And congrats to you and Dave....how fun to get all dressed up and go out - where areyou going? Hey gf... well the animal control officer spent about an hour here today and he was SHOCKED at the damage to Amber...GOOD!! He was headed down to pit bull's house after he left here...so, I have not heard yet what is going to happen to him/her/it. .... Amber got her drain removed today, and will have another two weeks before she gets her staples removed....we are under "quarantine" here, with a big red sticker in the window!! OMG....my 13 year old terrier mix apparently bit the hand of the Pitt Bull's owner...OH WELL. ...... I notice there is no sign in their window, and they have a freakin' attack dog!..... their neighbor told me today that the dog has bitten other dogs....if had I had KNOWN that, we would never have walked past their house....Dave is taking me to DaVinci...have you eaten there yet? I am quite excited!! Your trip to Pachanga sounds fun, too!! love you! Lori

Hey GF What the heck - why isn't the other dog under quarantine? What because it only attacked a dog and not a person - that STINKS.......I hope animal control takes the dog and puts it down.....it is a danger to animals and people ..... I have heard that DaVinci is really good and supposedly all of the tables have a view of the airport... Have a great time and keep me posted what animal control says. Have fun tonight Hugs

Jean, we had SO MUCH fun at DaVinci.... I am amazed at the difference that a beautiful setting, and incredible presentation and atmosphere makes for me in a dining experience!! It was perfect.

and, for us WLS peeps, the portion sizes are perfect, although I still took home a "doggie box" for me for today...this food is WAY too good to give to doggies!! Sorry amber and rosie....

I'm oing to put up a new avatar that is of me and dave on the patio, cuddling, have a vodka/tonic...watching the airplanes landing and taking off on the runway...
