My test results are back....

Yesterday my doctor's office calls me and tells me I need to come in and talk about my test results.

Can anyone say "panic!"?

The news is pretty good though. What a relief!  The doctor said that she was really impressed with my bloodwork and that I'm the only patient of hers who is not anemic post-WLS.  Still, my iron levels were a little low and she'd like me to take an additional iron supplement during the day.

I also have a small fibroid hanging around in my girly parts, but it's a minor thing and she doesn't see any need to remove it or treat it since it's not causing any problems.

The reason she brought me in was to discuss my thyroid.  She thinks my thyroid isn't working as hard as it should and as a result some of the symptoms I could be experienceing are fatigue and a slower metabolism.  I asked if this would explain why my weight-loss has slowed in the last 2 months and she thinks there's a relation between the two.

The doctor said she can understand why something like this would happen to me considering all the weight I've lost in a relatively short amount of time.

So, she prescribed a low-dose of a medication that will kick-start my thyroid AND my metabolism.  I hope it gets the scale moving again. *fingers-crossed*

I feel so much better, very relieved!

LOL!  The doc was really concerned about that and asked me twice "don't you feel tired??"  I hadn't thought about it....I'm working out almost everyday and am always on the go....I thought I was supposed to be tired.  I just never let it stop me.

Have any of your thyroid medications caused side-effects?
