I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am.  I have been cleaning like a mad dog and making sure everything is ready!!  I am so anxious and excited I can barely sit here long enough to write this message.  I am supposed to take my Mag Citrate between 1-4.  When did everyone take theirs?  I just want to make sure I dont have anywhere to go since I will be glued to the toilet!!  And, any lasst minute things I need to bring besided my pillow, chapstick, robe and jammies??

It helps to get the Mag Citrate down if you put it on ice.

Oh girl that Mag Citrate. I do remember that! I was supposed to take that between 1pm-4pm as well. Well, the day before my surgery I flew up north (when i was living in so cal) for a job interview. I flew back and didn't get home until about 6pm the day before surgery so i took it then. The last place I wanted to be was on an airplane! I would plan on staying at home during this time. Basically it's one big explosion after the next if you know what i mean.  Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Love, Jaime

Fortunately I didn't have to take anything like that.  Just not eat after midnight.  Of course when I woke up I didn't care about food at all, and they didn't give me anything but ice chips for 2 days because they had screwed things up.  My tummy was too small to care.  The earlier you take it the better it will be for you later tonight.   Want to wish you the best of luck tomorrow, you will do great. Take care, Diane

I haven't done it yet, but I would say take it as early as you can, so you can have a chance at some kind of sleeping tonight. Good luck tomorrow and congratulations!

I took it around 3:30pm.  It started working around 5:30 and I was done off the toilet by 8...being that we aren't supposed to eat anything on this day anyway not much came out but the feeling like something was going to come out was there so I stayed on the toilet haha. I hope it goes "smoothly" for you and I hope to see you on the other side in a few days!!! Tiffany

I think I took mine around noon the day before surgey (I had to be there at 6am)  I waited for some high-drama poddy time and it wasn't all that. It was over within an hour or so and in the vening I went to the movies to pass the time.

Congrats on your big day!!! Welcome to the losers bench!!

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Oh my goodness Tiffany!!! I am sooooooooo excited for you! Here is to everything going well and test results all coming back fine and no VERY LAST minute issues!!!  When I THOUGHT I was having surgery, I took the "Wonder Drink" actually at 5 p.m. and it didn't really "kick-in" until around 7:00 p.m. Like Tiffany said, since you shouldn't really have much inside anyway, my "Wonder Tonic" only lasted until 10:00 p.m. And you aren't constantly on the toilet non-stop (I wasn't at least). It was more of an on and off thing. So, just plan to be home in the evening and letting it do it's work. I found that the Wild Cherry from Rite-Aid wasn't bad. Now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't wonderful, but it wasn't terrible either. I wish you the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you going to be at Memorial???

Drink that stuff as fast as you can. Nasty. Don't dilute it in a glass of 7up or anything. I tried that once, and it took much longer to drink the stuff, since now there was more of the NASTY stuff.
