to be drinking my protein drinks? Just about everyday She has to have a protein drink with me. Now I'm not talking a sip. I'm talking her own 4 to 6 oz glass. It's the chocolate Unjury. She loves it.  I was going to have my daughter ask the pediatriction but she forgot. Any one have any opinions on this either way? I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance. Have a wonderful day.

Morning Jody.  My now 4 year old granbaby has been having protien with Nana since my surgery 2 years ago.  I just mix hers a little lighter than mine and when I use Ready mades I add water or milk to it to dilute it.  It is a great bond for us.  I make sure it is not full strength though she certainly doesnt need as much as I do.    I remember her loving to have refried beans with Nana in the early days,  good times for sure.  My surgeon said it was ok but keep the protien grams to about  5-7 per serving.

Good morning SueBee

Thank you for the advice. That makes good sense to. I had to so something as she just loves to join me everyday with my protein and in the afternoon with beef jerkey. She is such a kick. Mommy and daddy and Sarah live with me and we have our special things too that just her and I do. I really love it. Glad to know you had asked your surgeon.

By the way how is your Nephew doing? Real well I hope. You are all still in my prayers.

There is nothing more special on this earth than my NANA TIME for sure so I know how special this is for you too.  Sure helps me get through the tough times.  Yesterday she says "Nana I love you this much (arms spread wide) with Ice Cream, pickles, mustard, polly pockets and dolphins"  talk about too cute.    Thank you for asking about my nephew too.  He is doing phenominal (sp).  It is hard to believe just one week ago his heart was taken out, rebuilt and put back in.   We are hoping this is going to do the trick.  He is feeing awesome and has energy he has not had in over a year.  Your prayers are invaluable to us.   Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

SUEBEE

YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER SOUNDS AS ADORABLE AS MINE. IT'S JUST AMAZING HOW THEY WIN YOUR HEART.

YUP SHE HELPS ME THROUGH THE DAY. I WATCH HER EVERYDAY WHILE MOMMY AND DADDY WORK. THEY LIVE WITH HUBBY AND ME.

GRANDPA (POPPY) BUILT THEM A WONDERFUL ROOM IN THE GARAGE AND A SPECIAL ROOM RIGHT NEXT TO MOMMY AND DADDY FOR SARAH. IT'S THE BEST MADE ROOM IN THE HOUSE. HAS MORE OUTLETS AND IS SO WARM IN THE WINTER AND COOL IN THE SUMMER AND BOTH ROOMS HAVE AIR CONDITIONERS. POPPY DOESN'T SPOIL HIS GIRLS MUCH NOW DOES HE.

I DID THE SAME THING WITH MY 8 YEAR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER. I HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL BOND WITH BOTH MY GIRLS. WHAT A FANTASTIC FEELING THAT IS.

EVERYNIGHT AFTER MY 2 YEAR OLD G-DAUGHTER'S BATH AND BEFORE SHE BRUSHES HER TEETH SHE GETS 4 RASIN NETS AND PUTS THEM ON THE COFFEE TABLE NEXT TO MY COMPUTER, SO SHE HAS THEM FOR AFTER LUNCH THE NEXT DAY. THEN SHE JUMPS ON GRANDMA'S BED SINGING THE ENTIRE SONG OF DO YOU KNOW THE MUFFIN MAN AND THE BEATLES "I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND, THAT GRANDPA TAUGHT HER, WITH OUT MISSING A BEAT. AND SHE KNOWS EVERYSINGLE WORD OF IT AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND IT ALL.

SHE IS JUST NOT YOUR TYPICAL 2 YEAR OLD. SHE EVEN HAS TO PUT ON HER SUNGLASSES TO SEE WHAT SHE IS DOING WHEN SHE OPENS UP HER DVD'S. SHE SAYS I NEED MY GLASSES LIKE YOU GRANDMA TO SEE. AS SHE LEAVES MY BEDROOM TO GO TO BED SHE SAYS NITE NITE GRANDMA AND SEE YOU IN THE MORNING AND I LOVE YOU BIG MUCH. WHAT WOULD WE DO WITH OUT OUR GIRLS.

HERE GRANDPA OR AS SHE CALLS HIM POPPY BUILT HER SWING SET AND SANDBOX AND FIXED THE ENTIRE BACK YARD SO IT IS KID FRIENDLY. HE EVEN PUT THAT FAKE GRASS OVER THE ENTIRE BACK YARD, CAUSE REAL GRASS WON'T GROWN DUE TO THE HIGH WATER TABLE AND LIME, JUST 2 FOOT AROUND WEEDS. BUT I TELL YOU IT IS REALLY A GREEN YARD.

I AM SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOUR NEPHEW IS ON THE MEND. MAKES MY HEART FEEL GOOD TO KNOW THAT HE IS GOING TO BE OK.

TAKE CARE MY FRIEND ENJOY THE REST OF THE DAY.

My whole family drinks them, even the grand kids.

Thanks Darlene.
Sarah and Kaiya just love them. Sarah thinks she needs them just like grandma and Kaiya I gave one to just before her baseball game to help give her a boost. She seems to fall asleep out on the mound so to speak or her mind wanders and she doesn't pay attention. I know it could be just a part of being 8 but a little shot of protein I didn't feel could hurt her.

HAVE A WONDERFUL EVENING AND A FANTASTIC DAY TOMORROW. SURE HOPE THINGS ARE GOING OK FOR YOU MY FRIEND.

TAKE CARE.

actually, I asked this question of my nutritionist and she said that too much protein can cause kidney damage in young children. She also advised against letting young children eat protein bars or sports drinks as well, because they just don't need them, and they can cause nutritional abnormalities, especially in their electrolytes and blood and urine protein levels.

A little (and I mean a sip here and there) of the protein drink shouldn't be harmful, but drinking it regularly should be avoided.
