Wow Moment & some big news for Kirsten
Last night I went to Big 5 Sporting Goods with a friend. He needed something.....I forgot what. I was looking at all the clothing and I wanted to try stuff on because it's one of my little hobies now.
I saw these softball t-shirts that I think are so cute and they were on sale. So I put down my bag, take off my jacket and take a size Large off the rack. (I just like to see how big/small I am because for me I have a hard time recognizing the transformation in me)
I put the large over my head, and over the t-shirt I was already wearing. I could tell already it was the wrong size. I'm poking my head through the neck and I say out loud to my friend
"I don't think I'm a large anymore."
He replies "Monica, you don't look the same...I don't think you get it. That shirt is too big."
I pull the top over me and it's big around the shoulders and generally just too baggy. I took it off and grabbed a size MEDIUM. I put it on, and it fit! I couldn't say anything. I was just looking at myself.
My friend says "Are you having one of those moments?"
I was stunned and almost wanted to start crying. All I could do was nod my head. I've never worn anything in a size medium EVER.
I refrained from buying one of those t-shirts in every color...but I did buy one.
So yeah, my t-shirt today is a size Medium. It will be a while before I wear a medium in other items of clothing but it was a big huge WOW moment for me.
My other news.....I wasn't going to say anything until I was ready. But I can't keep quiet any longer. I found a friend who is willing to train with me to do the Disney half-marathon.
Did you hear me Kirsten???
